I wake up early I get ready

for my work . I run to chase for the local. I run with the time to see how much it would take to reach my destination. I chase the target to achieve it. I run from the office to quickly get home to text my fellow loved one's. I am a runner and I am always in hurry.

but tomorrow should be crisp and sunny. Can't wait to get out for a 7-8 mile run tomorrow to work off all the heavy eating! I love running in the cold weather...

It's not about how skinny you are,

how far you get, or how fast you get there. It's about feeling your legs giving out yet still move. It really makes you lose the sense of self limitation.

I Do It to Become Fit

I am not a runner for the love of the wind in my hair.... I was dabbling in running prior to my diagnosis with breast cancer.  The cancer treatment changed my body so drastically, I think I aged at least 10 years biologically if not chronologically, and my metabolism slowed...

morning, but the cold and recent snowfall made it very challenging. I was wishing it were summer again, so I could complain about the heat and humidity!

    I used to run daily,

but when I discovered the gym, I cut back to 3x a week and hit the gym in between. I usually run in the early mornings with a goal of >4.5M or 30mins to an hour. I wonder at times what I'm doing out there, running for. Over the years, I've given myself a thousand reasons to keep...

Last year I ran my first actual 5k run.

I made a rookie mistake and ran for practice crazy hard 2 days before my big run. Then wore myself out and hurt my calves. I ran the 5k anyways because I had already signed up. I was going to finish it one way or the other, I told myself. 29mins and shin splints later I stumbled...

I love to run. It's a great keep fit technique

included in my gym and swim routine. When I am at home with my parents I join my Dad each morning when he goes for his run. I've done this for several years throughout my teenager years and even in the summer recess at university. I think running is a great inexpensive...

I got back out there tonight

for the first time this week. It felt so good to just put one foot in front of the other. Running is one of the few things in life that I have found I just can't screw up. I have struggled to get my distance back up since getting bronchitis a couple of weeks ago. Tonight I...

for my first 5 km (3 miles) I used to think it was impossible! Now it's easy- today I start training for my 10 km race. Starting over slowly 3 weeks since I pulled my acl- have been stretching and healing it. Taking calcium and magnesium supplements :) I think it's all better...

    Between the time change,

the weather change plus my huge falling out with the friend who first encouraged me to run, I don't want to lose my momentum. I was getting up every day at 4 so I could run at 5 to beat the heat. Here I am at 6:30 am still in bed being lazy because its cold. All that to...

Is funny I never thought myself capable of it,

like really capable of it and I am not even obese or sick is just a mental block,a stupid mental block that was making me blind all the way.I could have done this years before. Anyway long story short today I celebrate my first 30 minutes of slow running.

It rained in excess last night,

so I woke up this morning with the plan of going to the gym instead. I arrived at the gym as it was supposed to open, but 'discovered that they were closed. Instead of using that as an excuse to skip a morning run, I simply changed course. I drove back to my house quickly and...

More things I hate that I've seen

Or maybe more of a jogger.

I'm not very fast but I like to run distance - in or out of my barefoot shoes (they protect the bottoms of my feet but intentionally provide no support! I wonder if there are others who enjoy this kind of running.

Took off with the goal of at least 8M in 30mins.

I loved the smell of freshly fallen leaves and crisp air. It was a great morning to get outside and appreciate the scenery. But I had to cut short; 'came back after 20 mins. It was really cold. :)

    Ok, so bitterly cold weather

and snow set in to my little part of the world last Thursday. Last night the temps dropped to -10 C (14 F) with a howling wind. I bummed around the house as much as I could, trying to convince myself it was smarter to stay in by the fire (right, C?). Anyways, just over an hour...

    Midnight Runner

I run at night. Originally this started because I was training in secret; I’d never run before, and didn’t want anyone to know what was going on if I quit. The program I did, called “Couch to 5k”, makes it clear right on their website that a high proportion of beginners...

I took a small break from running to let my

heel, heal up. I went for a long run today and it was fantastic. Runners high hit in a big way and I felt on top of the world. It also feels great to be a little sore again. I suppose taking a break from running every once in a while is a good thing to do.

My new running buddy is my daughter on her bike.

Each time we start off, she says, "What shall we talk about this time?" I absolutely adore my runs with her. She's such a motormouth, and I love having our time together. She never complains if I'm doing sprints up the neighborhood hills, either. She just peddles away and gives...

I feel very fortunate to live,

from time to time, in a place like Hawai'i, where the climate is pretty darn consistent from day-to-day. But even though the weather here may be pretty consistent, there are ups and downs, trades coming and going, and the presence or absence of cane smoke. Personally, I don't...

Am I? I mean I run, mostly away

but sometimes I return. I run from places to places in more ways that the term run could encompass. But when does one become a runner? Is it when you decide that the casual jog isn't doing much for you any more? Or when u decide that the 5 k is too short?

My brothers and I were raised to be athletes.

It's important to being able to run long distances, map points referenced. My parents would take us orienteering in the wilds above Stavanger. I do run still, mainly at the gym, but I do do roadwork sometimes, just go out for a run.
