I believe the way forward in life

and in terms of educating one self is to have an open yet critical mind about what you have been taught and the world around you, to always question things and never close a mind to something, because the more you know, the more you will grow as a person on many levels.

    A healthy one at that,

I'd like to think, but that requires further investigation.

    Some Faith Preserves Relationships

I have made a new close friend. But my experience in life tells me that this could turn on me at any moment. I just had some very close and trusted friends turn on me this past year. I didn't see it coming. I was shocked by it. This, after a year of getting to know them. I...

I think what contributed to my skepticism is

that i grew up around a lot of people who liked to play jokes and so for a lot of things, you couldn't take them seriously. It doesn't control my life though, i was taught to question everything anyways.

    Question Everything

I am a Skeptic. When my parents were teaching the lessons of life, I clearly remember them saying Question, anything you are unsure of, and then make your own decision. I'm an skeptical about some thing and not about others. Like i believe in Unicorns but I am very skeptical...

    Accupuncture, Holistic Medicine, Etc.

I was just reading a story from a person that had been diagnosed with a pretty serious illness and someone responded with a suggestion to try some holistic "therapies," including acupuncture or acupressure. I didn't want to respond in the actual story because I'm sure the person...

Judgement? Yes, I am a skeptic.

It is a personal ethic to test everything out. It is the work of so reasoning mind. I could never truly accept something on face value without having doubts, we all do it. We are all Thomases. It is a mark of modern education to test out things, it is a scientific response to...

You say you're a skeptic but, frankly, I doubt it. For my part, I say I am a sceptic but it's clear that you are reluctant to accept this.  There is but one solution: let's call the whole thing off.

    Not Such A Bad Thing

I think as long as one is able to maintain a sense of reason about it and can concede to proof when presented, then being skeptical can sort of be a good thing.

    Not For Long

Right now I am still what I've been for a long time. Call it "realist" or skeptic or whatever. Main point - I don't always loot at the glass half-full. I don't expect the worst either, but I let all the possible outcomes in my head. Now, I know that reality is...

    Even Though I'm Very Openminded

I enjoy the paranormal very much. But when something out of the ordinary happens to me, I question it and look for possible alternatives. On the flip side, if someone says something like "it was just the wind", I want to believe differently. But I am a skeptic...

It's natural to me to question everything and not just accept something blindly. Self-deceit has never been my style and I don't see it being something of interest any time soon, unless it's to understand why people find value in it. I'm a skeptic and I wouldn't have it any other...

    I Am Skeptic

I am a skeptic. What does that mean to me? It means that I don't simply accept things in general. I question them, I challenge things people simple accept because everyone seems to accept them. I am not cynic, I am generally very optimistic, it is not people so much I challenge...

    My Skeptical Journey

I am indeed a skeptic, but that word may mean something different to me than it does to you, so let me share what it means to me:A modern skeptic is NOT, as some think, a person who reflexively disbelieves EVERYTHING.A modern skeptic is someone who approaches claims - especially...

    Skepticism Saved Me

I grew up in a somewhat Christian modeled household; even though we didnt go to church religiously (no pun intended), my mother's father was the pastor of a small church in Pennsylvania. A good man, from what I remember, a true bible thumper though. Lived in a small one room...
