    My Leukemia Journey

I was diagnosed with Leukemia when I was 4 months old. They told my parents that I had a 1% chance to live. I am now 21 years old. I, unfortunately, ignored my cancer experience for 20 years now. It left such a burden on life while growing up. Now I am finally able to see the...

    Diagnosis All

I was sixteen when I was diagnosed with ALL.  The (not so) funny thing is that I think several of us knew I had it.  During the last part of my sophomore year, I started getting really tired.  My usual workout was running two miles a night with my two best...

    Survived?

The diagnosis came when I was fifteen. And like all twists of fate, it abruptly ended a period and caused all that came before it to become some sort of a vaguely remembered, clearly exaggerated Golden Age. I was, for the first time in my life, head over heels in love, and as...

I've been reading some of these experiences

with something about not being able to remember yourself before the diagnosis, but I can't seem to forget it or stop comparing it to myself now. I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma when I was 16, which was last year. I was volunteering at a hospital when I started having pain in...

    Meeting a SUPER GIRL

Before I was diagnosed with cancer, I was a teen who was just looking to get by with his best friend. I had a heart to care for others, but I never followed through with it. That all changed when I met this little five year old girl and her family during one of my rounds of...

    Perspective

I didn't want to put this in my other post because I didn't write it, and it isn't really about me... but it could be.  I know at least a couple of my friends that have also survived childhood cancer feel this way, too.  I love the way it's written, but I admit that I...

    Luckily I was a baby

and I don't remember anything. Retino blastoma is a rare and dangerous cancer of the eye, it's more common in kids. Because at the time Iran didn't have the right doctors we had to come to the UK. I have one false eye, and an eye with less than 20% vision, so I'm registered...
