    I Stand Alone

I live in the middle of a concrete jungle but down the street there is an empty field where the bums sleep and people dump there garbage. Standing alone in the middle of that field is a giant oak...God I love that tree. In times of despair, confusion, contemplation, or stress I...

    The Winter Has Come

I just spent a few hours in nature, listening to the falling snow, tree hugging, watching the sky, thinking and walking with my best friend through the white frozen fields. The wind and the snow falling in my face, the vast space and the deer standing on the horizon, I felt so...

    A Tree From My Past...

As a child, I had a pretty dysfunctional family; a mom who wrestled with her own darknesses and was regularly drunk, a father who was a workaholic and rarely home, and two older brothers who had a habit of teasing and torturing me when I wanted to tag along with them wherever...

    Sing For The Trees

Not only do I hug trees but I also sing for them. In early January I had an idea to sing to trees on the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. I created an event and posted it on Facebook. Within a day, people who I didn't know, began to sign up. On April 22, 2010 over 3,000...

I Am A Conflicted Tree Hugger

This happened at the start of this week. I was driving down our driveway to go to work... and a sight held my gaze... my mouth hanging open... and my heart broke into pieces... This is in our front yard. Mr Sylph had to cut down the fallen branch. The bunnies love that part of...

I am a Tree Hugger.  Sometimes my husband calls it a bunny hugger because I love animals too.    I think this world is a beautiful place, especially what is found out in nature.  I think it is our job to do the best we can to take care of the earth and...

After I hug a tree I feel clean and pure. I know that all the negative energy goes right down into the ground. Sitting with my back to the tree and my palms to the ground works good too.

In my own experience I have felt the energy

flow between me and the tree and therefor if I see and old tree that pulls at me I give it some love :)
