    How Low Can You Go?

Hi there! :) This post is pretty much out of curiosity. What is the lowest blood sugar you ever had and how did it make you feel? Not that this is a competition or anything. Besides getting to eat sugary junk, lows are pretty bad. Personally, mine was 14 (in the U.S system). I...

    And So...

.. On and on it goes. Where it stops, I sure don't know.  .. Type 1 diabetic for 32 of my 50 years of being semi-alive. There's, what?, two other people who said that they are a Type 1 diabetic (ooo, sorry, "Type ONE Diabetic!!), yet mouths remain shut and...

Stereotypes that I would like to put to an end.

I have had diabetes for 15 years. My pancreas stopped producing insulin when I was 10 years old, so I take insulin through a syringe. 1. Yes I can eat whatever I want, just like a person without diabetes. Your pancreas gives you insulin, my needle gives me insulin. 2. "My...

    Pump?

I've been diabetic now for just over 31 years. So far everything has gone okay most of the time but recently my control has been so bad that my endo thinks I should go on an insulin pump. According to him after after 30 years on insulin injections my system can no longer process...

    I binge on junk food.

It has a really numbing affect on me. It helps me stop worrying about things and just do something. It isn't healthy, I know. But maybe that's part of the reason why I do it. I just want to stop caring so much sometimes. I'm not really overweight, and I never cared much about...

    I believe it's too late

for me…to save myself. I've been feeling a lot of pain in my body these past few days, and I feel like I'm all alone in this fight…and I'm sorry that I didn't love myself. I've been a type 1 diabetic since I was 9 and I've always believed it to be a curse…which I still do...

And honestly, I don't take care of myself

as much as I should. Almost exactly a year ago, I ended up in the hospital for ketoacidoses, and while I'm looking after myself well enough to not need to go (other than the bout of strep that I'm sick with right now), it sometimes worries me. I have to take my insulin and check...

I was six when I was diagnosed.

I am 21 now. My blood sugars have been up and down. I have mostly highs. I'm trying to bring my A1C down but it's really hard for me. Does anyone have any suggestions?
