I Am a United States Army Girlfriend - Forum & Chat Board | Do they ever stop?

Brian, my Soldier, just called and I am still on cloud nine. I have had one ******, pardon my French, weeks and him calling me today totally made my week. I had already gotten his letter on Wednesday, and now this? I am a bit sad that he can't call every week, and he sounded so tired, but still. I just wanted to know, do the tears ever stop? Do you still cry when he calls? Or bust out into tears when you see his letter? Cause I did.

im not sure if it stops or not, i still cry as soon as i open his letters or hear his voice when he gets a chance to call. the tears still come but after i get off te phone or finnish his letter my tears turn into a huge smile that helps me get through the rest of the week. just stay strong.

Nope, haha, it doesnt really ever stop... you may do it less, but it doesnt stop. For the year or so we were apart I cried almost everytime he called.. exspecially when having a bad day! When they're away and we miss them- anything you get from them (call, email, letter) they all make you tear up, sometimes cry.. after 2 years of this I still cry. I have a friend who is a Marine Wife, been one for 4 years (he just re enlisted) and she still cries! Haha things get easier, just never easy...

i cry every letter... n any call i get 2.  the letters are the worst tho... i can almost hear him talkin from the letters... and i want so badly just 2 hear his voice... and 2 be holdin somethin that he sat there and thought about me when he was writin it...makes me smile but cry my eyes out at the same time.

crying isn't that bad, but you get stronger and it happens less

i dont cry as much as i did,but whenever i read something sweet in his letters or he says goodbye in his phone calls i cant stop the tears
