How time flies when you are having fun.

Looked up the other day and calculated I have over 4 decades of experience in veterinary medicine, the last 3.5 decades as a licensed veterinary technician. What a rush!

I used to get so emotional

when it came to euthanasia. Now I've learned how to set my feelings aside and accept that in most cases it is needed. It's still hard but it does get easier. Still hard to see a grown man cry over is loyal companion.

Update!! So my tonsils have swollen to the point

that they are touching each other and it is very, very painful to swallow anything. That being said, I haven't really eaten anything since yesterday except Benadryl, Zyrtec, and Advil. The swelling has spread from my tonsils to my throat and my neck. And I'm getting a sinus...

for almost three years and I have never had an incident like the one I'm about to disclose. It was a normal day, everything was going great. We had this cat come in because it had gotten really anemic from a flea infestation, so we were drawing some blood to run. The cat fought...

I've been a registered veterinary technician

for three months now, and although it's not in the field I want to make a career in, it's incredibly awesome. I trim nails, bathe and feed animals, give vaccines, assist the vet in surgery, and perform euthanasia if necessary. Working with animals has taught me patience, and I'm...
