Update!! So my tonsils have swollen to the point

that they are touching each other and it is very, very painful to swallow anything. That being said, I haven't really eaten anything since yesterday except Benadryl, Zyrtec, and Advil. The swelling has spread from my tonsils to my throat and my neck. And I'm getting a sinus...

Finished my externship a few months ago

and still haven't gotten a job because I don't have enough experience. Well how am I supposed to get experience if no one will give it to me? This is becoming frustrating because I want to get in the field. Maybe I should just sell drugs.

I just started work for my first full day today.

I have a super stuffy nose, however I have no mucus, just inflammation. I think that I may be allergic to dogs as towards the end of the day along with the stuffy nose, sneezing, and itchiness, I developed hives where I was holding a cat. I really do love my job and I know I'm...

How time flies when you are having fun.

Looked up the other day and calculated I have over 4 decades of experience in veterinary medicine, the last 3.5 decades as a licensed veterinary technician. What a rush!

I used to get so emotional

when it came to euthanasia. Now I've learned how to set my feelings aside and accept that in most cases it is needed. It's still hard but it does get easier. Still hard to see a grown man cry over is loyal companion.

I've been a registered veterinary technician

for three months now, and although it's not in the field I want to make a career in, it's incredibly awesome. I trim nails, bathe and feed animals, give vaccines, assist the vet in surgery, and perform euthanasia if necessary. Working with animals has taught me patience, and I'm...
