    I Truly Am Afraid.

My name is Emily, I am 15 years old. I have severe ADHD. But I may also think that I have an alcohol problem. I don't drink with friends or whatever, but I do drink when I'm home alone. When I don't drink, I feel incomplete and empty, on edge and paranoid. I know it's wrong and I...

I Was Sure I Didn't Have An Addictive Personality

Now I'm starting to worry. I was addicted to a drug at one point, then realized that I didn't NEED it and now only do it when I want to. When I had a job I drank almost everyday afterward and every weekend. I am broke right now, out of a job and am...

    Yes I Am.

I am afraid of becoming an alcoholic. Alcoholism runs in my family. My father's Step-mom and dad are both recovering alcoholics. My mother's Mother, and Step-Dad are borderline alcoholics. My father is a recovering alcoholic, who still drinks here and there, and when he does, he...

    I drink, often alone,

mainly just to calm down my nerves. And I love that feeling. Drinking gets me calm, worrying about less. Can't seem to relax totally and properly without it. I'm worried about my future - of becoming an alcoholic, or even worse, a drug abuser.

I enjoy that warm feeling you get,

and the fact that it helps numb your senses. I've got problems with depression, so alcohol helps me numb the pain. I suppose it's a good thing I can't buy it yet, otherwise I'm afraid I'd get In the habit of drowning my sorrows each and every night..

I am afraid of becoming an alcoholic.

Its a main reason why I try not to drink so much. When I lost my daughter, I did not handle it the best way. Instead of turning to my friends and family to help me get through the months, I turned to jack, Jack Daniels that is. We were best friends, really buddy buddy. It almost...

    It Runs In The Family

Believe it or not, descendants of alcoholics can be more susceptible to alcohol abuse.  My family is proof. Every generation on my mom's side of the family has had an alcoholic in it (thankfully neither of my parents have been alcoholics.)  My great-great-grandfather...

Alcohol is a depressant... it may bring you up for a while, but overall it will bring you down. I've been through depressioin and each day is a struggle after depression.  Any thing could bring me right back to where I was two years ago.  Alcohol could possibly...

    Usually the Way

It's usually the way that ends most of the lives in my family. My cousin's in gaol because of drugs and drink. My great grandad died of alcohol poisoning, so did my uncle and another cousin. My Dad's only recently beaten his alcohol addiction. My Grandad died of a heart attack...

    Learning About Drunk Me

I have been hearing stories from people who party with me about what kind of person I am when I'm drunk.  Apparently I'm a lot of fun, silly, dancy, etc., which is fine, but I'm also seductive and massively flirtatious with both boys and girls.  This is okay now because...

I'm 15 and I drink way too much.

I spend a lot of money on it every week. I also have depression and anxiety, and am taking anti-depressants. I always have the worst anxiety the day after I drink, but I still can't quit drinking. It's getting to the point where if someone is drinking around me, I always ask...

I Think I Might Be Sinking.

I have easy access to alcohol here.  I have been drinking almost every night.  I don't do it because it tastes good, either.  I do it because I desire numbness.  Addiction is so bad in my family.  I don't know of a person who isn't hooked on...
