I Am Agnostic

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 3,120 People

People sometimes ask what religion I'm in.

I usually say I'm agnostic. Truth is, I don't care for religion. It never was important to me. So, even if there was a God, I wouldn't care. If God was proven fake, I still wouldn't care. It doesn't matter to me at all.

I've known that I am agnostic

for a long time. I have had relationships with Christians, Catholics and Mormons, looked and done some minor research on Buddhism, Muslims, and paganism, and it all seams so over dramatized. I love having discussions about religion but don't have many people to talk about it...

    We all have asked ourselves

And this trait of mine irritates me because when it comes to the supernatural or paranormal, I just shrug and say, "It could happen." There could be some entity in the sky watching and judging us, or there couldn't. No one knows. We don't know until we die. But I suppose one...

Ill continue to be Agnostic until: When someone

can tell me what happened before the Big Bang without saying A) Jesus' dad did it. B) it just happened. When someone can tell me how life started without saying A) Jesus' dad did it. B) it just happened. When someone can tell me how the universe isn't just one giant hologram.

    Problems With Religion

I used to say I was atheist.  How easy it is to say that you do not believe in anything, that you are free from religion and all of its splendor.  You have nothing to fear, nothing to have to worship.  You had nothing, in a very literal sense.  So then I began...

True Wisdom Is Knowing You Don't Know

It was Socrates who said, "True wisdom is knowing you don't know." My awareness of my ignorance is the source of whatever humility, creativity, and free will I might possess. Ironically, without it I would be lost and the more ignorant I know myself to be the wiser I become. I...
