I Am Agnostic

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 2,901 People

It has taken a while to actually identify this

way. I've been trying for a long time to hold onto faith, but I think I just need to be honest. I've been a Christian since I was 13, the formative years, I'll never be able to get some of the negative things out of my mind, fear and anxiety of damnation, an all-seeing judging...

Because there's apparently a rumour going around that I'm some sort of religious nut, it's high time I posted something here. I'm an agnostic who's considering converting to atheism. It's hard to disprove the existence of God, since God is a concept with no measurable attributes...

or a religious person who can't take a leap of faith? I've never been able to commit fully to either side of the debate. I certainly don't believe everything in any religious book is 100% truth. So I'm leaning towards atheism, but I can't dismiss the idea that a divine...

    Problems With Religion

I used to say I was atheist.  How easy it is to say that you do not believe in anything, that you are free from religion and all of its splendor.  You have nothing to fear, nothing to have to worship.  You had nothing, in a very literal sense.  So then I began...
