My first experience at church was

when I was two days old. Obviously, I don't remember what occurred then, but even so, my mother insisted- and still insists- that I attend every Sunday despite the fact that I could not have been aware of what was happening. Such was my life, going to church every Sunday and...

    This may help people understand

why some people feel this way about a particular subject: God. ...Now that I have already lost a handful of readers, let's continue with one of the points I am trying to make: too many of us are so unwilling to listen to other people's opinions yet, at the same time, want...

I was born a Muslim in an Islamic country.

My family never practised any of the pillars of faith except for fasting, and even that was in the name of keeping fit. My country is now becoming more and more extremist (in one state non married couples are no longer allowed to ride on a motorcycle together). Muslims like us...

    This Might Be Controversial.

I am agnostic, another way of putting it would be on the fence I suppose.  Is there a God? The most honest answer I can give to that question is I don't care. There I said it, I don't care. At this point it wouldn't matter anyway. There are those that would deny his...

she is very giving and caring, but she is also very religious. Catholic to be exact. I was on the phone with her for two hours today. She was talking to me a lot about her religion and how I shouldn't say I don't know if there is a god or not. She really doesn't like that I...

It has taken a while to actually identify this

way. I've been trying for a long time to hold onto faith, but I think I just need to be honest. I've been a Christian since I was 13, the formative years, I'll never be able to get some of the negative things out of my mind, fear and anxiety of damnation, an all-seeing judging...

Ignorant Wisdom: The Heart Of Agnosticism

Socrates said, "True wisdom is knowing you don't know" to which I would add accepting our ignorance is how we really come to know anything. If nothing else we can always be certain of our uncertainty and, therefore, our ignorance. It is the source of whatever humility, creativity...

    Problems With Religion

I used to say I was atheist.  How easy it is to say that you do not believe in anything, that you are free from religion and all of its splendor.  You have nothing to fear, nothing to have to worship.  You had nothing, in a very literal sense.  So then I began...

    I am agnostic because.

. It seemed to be one of the only ways to remain objective to basic aspects of life/society/universe such as god, moral, afterlife, and the soul.. It's a way to define myself and tell people that I don't buy into the theist's ultimatum like the atheists actually do.. Which is...
