I Am Agnostic

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 3,295 People

I believe in life after what we have here,

but I do not believe that any one religion has it 100% correct. They are all flawed in some manner, like with condemnation of homosexuality and the intolerance of other religions. I believe in a higher power because certain symbols and other signs in my life show that there is...

    I subscribe to "pragmatic agnosticism",

meaning that there is no proof of either the existence or non-existence of any deity, but since any deity that may exist appears unconcerned for the universe or the welfare of its inhabitants, the question is largely academic and that their existence therefore has no impact on...

Oct 12,2015 Originally written as an answer to:  How do atheists deal with horrors such as people and even children being tortured. (edited, scd) I think you are confusing Atheism, the belief that no god exists, with the condition of having no values or morels. These are not...

What does being Agnostic mean to you?

To me it means the uncertainty of wether God or a higher power actually exists. I've been told I don't know the meaning of what it is to be agnostic. I thought I might as well hear it from the horses mouth so to speak.

    Chased From The Church

Yeah. I just can't get behind any organized religion. Followers follow blindly, are hypocrites and yet use their religion as some sort of get out of jail card. I also don't think that if you are not a follower of some specific religion you are doomed. Don't think a 'God...

    Problems With Religion

I used to say I was atheist.  How easy it is to say that you do not believe in anything, that you are free from religion and all of its splendor.  You have nothing to fear, nothing to have to worship.  You had nothing, in a very literal sense.  So then I began...

It was Socrates who said, "True wisdom is knowing you don't know." My awareness of my ignorance is the source of whatever humility, creativity, and free will I might possess. Ironically, without it I would be lost and the more ignorant I know myself to be the wiser I become. I...
