I Am Agnostic

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 3,153 People

I think this is the group I belong in,

I'm not quite atheist, but I'm not a true believer. I just want to be a good person on a positive path. I'm still searching within myself to be the true me and find my way.

    I finally found the word

that describes my views..! Agnostic : a person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God or of anything beyond material phenomena; a person who claims neither faith nor disbelief in God.

I'm curious, what do other agnostics

or atheists think when "miracles" occur? For example when someone is suppose to die but whatever's causing it SOMEHOW disappears.

I've been to many different Christian churches

(including Mormon, Baptist, and Catholic), have researched other Christian derivitives (such as Protestant and Pentecostal), and have researched Judaism, Islam, Shinto, Hindu, Paganism, and other, lesser known faiths. After all that, I know it just isn't for me. I cannot believe...

Ill continue to be Agnostic until: When someone

can tell me what happened before the Big Bang without saying A) Jesus' dad did it. B) it just happened. When someone can tell me how life started without saying A) Jesus' dad did it. B) it just happened. When someone can tell me how the universe isn't just one giant hologram.

"So, God has the will to stop the evil,

but he doesn't? Then he's not omnipotent. He can do it, but he does not desires to do it? Then he's evil. Can he and want to prevent it? Then, from where does evil come from? He can't or don't want to prevent evil? Then, Why call him God?" -Epicurus Basically my thoughts.

    We all have asked ourselves

True Wisdom Is Knowing You Don't Know

It was Socrates who said, "True wisdom is knowing you don't know." My awareness of my ignorance is the source of whatever humility, creativity, and free will I might possess. Ironically, without it I would be lost and the more ignorant I know myself to be the wiser I become. I...

    This Might Be Controversial.

I am agnostic, another way of putting it would be on the fence I suppose.  Is there a God? The most honest answer I can give to that question is I don't care. There I said it, I don't care. At this point it wouldn't matter anyway. There are those that would deny his...

People sometimes ask what religion I'm in.

I usually say I'm agnostic. Truth is, I don't care for religion. It never was important to me. So, even if there was a God, I wouldn't care. If God was proven fake, I still wouldn't care. It doesn't matter to me at all.

I am not an Athiest. I think being Athiest is just as unfounded as being religious. I am Agnostic. I acknowledge that there could be a God(dess) or several. But I admit there's no real way of knowing for sure. Who are we to decide that there is a god, or that there isn't one...

The opposite of religion is atheism,

I am agnostic in respect to the deist

conceptions of God. That's not to say that their arguments are sound. They stumble upon the same logical fallacies that christians do, but it's plausible that there could have been some sort of 'prime mover' so to speak for our universe.
