The moon is 400 times smaller

than the sun and the sun is 400 times further from earth than the moon. So from earth the moon covers the sun perfectly in a solar eclipse.

    the universe is giant,

and that's an understatement! sometimes I look up at the sky and think "no one knows were here, so why are we here?" I'm not a very religious person, and I don't have the greatest grasp of science, but I find it fascinating how the universe started from nothing (idk if that's...

Learned this from Hitchhikers Guide to the

Galaxy. So the universe is infinite, right? But since we know that not all planets are inhabited, there must be a finite number of planets with life, and subsequently there must be a finite amount of life in general. This is expressed as a fraction: planets with life/total...

    Light travels at about 186,

000 miles per second. Our galaxy is about 100,000 light years across. Yet our galaxy is tiny in comparison to others that have been discovered and there are millions. It makes me wonder... I wish I could travel to other parts of the universe and discover intelligent life!

If we are made from atoms

which make up the universe, and we are in the universe, then that means we are inseparable from the universe. We ARE the universe!!! In an experience saying how amazed we are at..ourselves? Geez the universe is so arrogant. No offence.

I know a lot of people don't enjoy that, but it amazes me. I saw one that broke in two. It was visible for about 6 seconds. It was truly amazing. I saw several satellites pass over. It was greater than any fireworks show I've ever seen. When I watch the stars, I'm reminded of...
