    Texan Bell

Born and raised in Texas, I consider myself a Texan before I try to figure out what nationality I am. I don't know anything about my biological father's side, but I know a little bit about my mother's. I can trace my ancestry back 6 generations of Texans. I don't know why, but...

I'm a farm girl, in a very small town.

I don't dress country, but a lot of people point out my accent. That sucks, even people at my school tell me I have one. I just call it being a "Southern Belle." Ha ha ha

I hear so many stories about people being

ashamed to reveal their southern roots, and I honestly don't get it. I am not ashamed. I also find it rather amusing to read and hear about the multitude of misconceptions that people have about the south. I am actually literate. I speak well, though I do have a southern drawl...

I Love Being a Southern Girl!!

I LOVE being Southern! I love that I grew up in a town where people say hello to everyone! I love that when you are driving down the street and you see someone you don't even know, you wave as they pass. I love sitting on the front porch with a mason jar filled with sweet tea. I...

I was out of state for a convention

for work this past week. I got a chance to talk to a lot of people and learn a lot about my craft. Everyone was really nice and every person you talked to had great ideas on how to improve. Randomly a small group (3 people) came over to me and asked me why are you so narrow...

I am not from the south but I know this guy who is and he always calls me a "Yankee".  As far as I know both sides of my family have always been from Washington State or at least the west coast. I am not exactly sure what this means. Is it a derogatory term?  From the...

    The Soul Of A Southerner

You know what sucks about being in the south?

A ton of religious (hypocritical) people that judge too much and are too closed minded. We are actually thinking of moving to better fit our poly lifestyle. It's hard for us to find a girl interested in dating a married couple.
