I Am An Alcoholic Forum & Chat Board | I have a drink problem - am I an Alcoholic??

Hi all, I am new to this group but not new to drink problems. I know I definitely have a drink problem and have for years but not sure if  I am an alcoholic? I have been on the AA website and done the quizes where I did score over the normal amount of questions. My problem is though I cant really find any stories there that I can relate to. When I drink I cant control the amount I have and usually end up drunk, often when I meant not to, It doesnt change my personality and i am usually a happy drunk. The problem it causes me is that it is affecting my life as in missing work, then feeling depressed and wanting to drink again to feel better, although I can control myself not to drink it is once I have had one or 2 i find it very difficult to stop. I come from a drinking family and all my friends drink a lot. I think there must be more to life than drinking and feeling bad after - do you think AA could be for me? Many thanks for reading this any advice would really be appreciated x

 

Almost 18 months later. How are you? I've been sober for 3 days! I like you can't pick up a drink. I love it to much. I'm off for a long walk. Have a good day!
