I Am An Atheist

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 14,559 People

There's and ancient book of eastern wisdom

called the Tao Te Ching that everyone should read. My favorite translation is the one by Jane English and another author. In any event, I think it is a misunderstanding to view this as a religious text; its a book about living a life attuned to life and this does not require...

I am god! I created man to be imperfect.

I made man in a way so they can not help but to sin. Then I made those sins morally wrong. Then the only way I can to forgive the flawed creatures I made for breaking the laws I chose is to impregnate a young woman with myself so she can give birth to me so I can grow up and be...

If we proved 100% without any doubts

that God wasn't real right now, there would be mass suicides. Some people just don't have the mental/spiritual capability to handle the idea of the vast universe as it is. To them it's terrifying and lonely, and they need that imaginary omnipotent hand to hold just to survive it...

I Think, Therefore I Am (an Atheist)

I am an atheist, and because of that I believe life is precious. Saying life is precious might sound like something a pro-life religious person would say, so allow me to explain my reasoning. I believe that this short life we are blessed with is all that we will ever have...

Atheists & Anger - A Blog By Greta Christina

ATHEISTS AND ANGER   I want to talk about atheists and anger.   This has been a hard piece to write, and it may be a hard one to read. I'm not going to be as polite and good-tempered as I usually am in this blog; this piece is about anger, and for once I'm going to...

Because you know, I couldn't figure out murder is wrong without a 2000 year old badly translated and rewritten book to tell me that. That's why I kill people daily.......................... Oh wait......... I don't? Hmmmmmm. I wonder why?

when I'm talking religion with a Christian. They always bring up that one of us must be right, theoretically. Either it's God or nothing. They're in the clear because if there is a God, they receive no punishment but if there isn't, then nothing happens to them. So, obviously, I...
