    Actually, I'm Almost An Empty-nester

Our nest won't be truly empty until the end of the summer, but this seemed like a good group to join during the "transition" phase. We have four kids, and the youngest just graduated high school. The oldest is 25 and has been on his own for a few years already, while...

    Single Mom All These Years

At first, it was just fabulous; both my girls moved out within months of each other.  I sold the house that had been wonderful, but a burden.  I felt a great release from that.  I felt so proud that my kids were at college, working, having great successful...

And it scares the **** out of me. I am afrarid of waking up and find myself looking a stranger in the face.  Having the sudden realization that we have drifted apart.  We focused on raising our children and have neglected our personal relationship.  All the...

My husband and I are empty nesters now.

All five kids are on their own now. My kids ages range from 18 to 28. I became a proud grandmother 10 years ago. My daughter had twins with her boyfriend. My kids are either in college or they are married with kids of their own.

For nearly half my life they've made up nearly

all the parts of my heart and my life was consumed by them. I was perfectly content for it to be that way. Now, their lives are taking them away from me. I wouldn't want them to cling to me. I’m proud of their independence, determination, and confidence. I’m glad that...

    Miss My Kids

Our youngest was away at college for four and a half years, but was only 2 hours away.  He spent most of the summers at home and came home pretty regularly during the year.  Right after he graduated, he moved about 2000 miles away for six months.  Then he came home...

    Beginning the Empty Nest Stage

As I have gone through my morning picking up and doing things that all housewives do; I have been thinking.  What started my thoughts were my pets.  No matter what I may be doing they want my attention and touch.  Upon giving them this few minutes of my time...

My son is leaving home again today

and my heart is absolutely breaking. I had let him go before and I know I can do it again and it is for the best but it is so hard. I love him so much and I feel I am nothing if not a mom.

Logically, I know the title to my post is

meaningless because I've got a lot to offer as I just graduated with my bachelor degree and began working in the hospital lab (which I love), but 4 years ago my son moved to his dad's. He did not transition well at all to the new school that he didn't really have much choice in...
