we all need to escape from something sometimes, a marriage, a job, a society, a prison, a religion, a state of mind. escapists of the world unite! 62 People

    You Do This Every Time

I am an escapist. Could never deal with the things in front of me. Could never commit to the things that mattered most and shut off my brain to all the things that didnt, couldnt, shouldnt and even wouldnt matter. Touch and go in the lives of others, never seeming to be...

Escapism Is A Bit Wrong Word... :)

... Because reality has many dimensions to it. I'm constantly escaping the sad confined dimension of what people call "real world" into my fantasy Otherworld. And I am happy like that, and would never want to change it.

As I Have Posted In An Answer To A Question...

My dream involves everything I've  ever wanted being in some secret place, just waiting for me to pack a few quick things and go there. The perfect life all ready and waiting, no one knows it's out there but me.  How I would love to just quickly disappear, and simply never come...

    Cut Back

Playing video games, writing stories, telling stories, watching movies and making movies are all the ways I escape the world.  Lately it has of course been GTA IV.  As much as I am very proud to be an escapist, something is telling me I need to cut back to reality now...

    The Narcissistic Preacher!

Escapism in my opinion is the foundation of creativity, that wondrous realm of fantasy where a person can create their own realities far from the social constructs forced upon us on a daily basis. Think of the stereotypical “starving artist”, a life filled with joy doing what...

    Discovering "Escapism"

I've been a writer since I was a kid, it's always been my way of coping with the real world when it sucks (which quiet frankly is far too often ...) and it's always proved to be exactly what I needed in difficult times. I had never heard the word "escapist" before until I read a...

How Can I Change And Everything Else Stays The Same?

this weekend was supposed to be fun. Go back, see some old friends, go bridesmaids dress shopping for my friend and it turned out to just be nothing but depressing ... it's only now occurring to me that my friends have stayed the same as they were five years ago and I'm so much...

I Always Escape!! Mwhahaha *evil Laugh*

I always manage to escape, when I was a child my sister and I's favourite game was to tie each other up and lock each other in a cupboard and just leave the other one there. LOL as we got older though I have to say we got so good that sometimes we'd have to yell to be freed...

It's Good to Be An Escapist

Escapism is running away, and most people try to tell you that's wrong and cowardly and never leads to happiness. I don't agree. Sometimes you are weak, and you dont have a chance. At times like that it's best to run away, lick your wounds, husband your resources, make a...
