    On And Off Orthorexia

Christmas is the worst time of the year for dieters. It's hard to say no or turn away from mouth-watering food. Unfortunately, everything that's served during the holidays is loaded with sugar, salt and fat. Have you ever heard of anyone saying, "It's Christmas! Let's...

I Used To Be Raw Vegan

I lost 40 pounds in 3 months being raw vegan, eating 600 calories a day, and running for 30-60 minutes everyday. My liver almost failed from lack of protein. :/ I am so much bigger, now. Sometimes I wish I had kept at it and been hospitalized, because I can't take care of myself...

    I Think This Is Real.

I started maintaining a more "healthy" lifestyle when I was 28 years old. My then-husband (now 2 years my ex-husband) was diagnosed with morbidly high cholesterol and, in order to show support, I began researching and implementing a low-cholesterol diet for him and me and our...

    Obsessed With Eating Healthy

It all started with avoiding foods that contained high fructose corn syrup. I began paying very close attention to labels and what I was eating. Harmless right? Wrong! This obsession with healthy food has led me to skip meals, refusing to eat food prepared by others (without...

    The Skinny On Fat People

Sharing a blogpost that resonated with me. I thought it, but he wrote it. Don't get me wrong. I USED to be FAT. But I took control of my diet. I know that I am not gifted with fast metabolism but I did not sit down to just "accept it". I worked out and controlled my calories. I...

    Eating Is a Practical Necessity

I would be prefectly happy if I didn't have to eat all. If I could get EVERYTHING I need from a food pill and have no hunger pains I would be happy. I eat all of my vergetables raw and fruit too. I eat only the healthiest foods. no prepared food at all. only 100% whole grains...

    Ortho? Ortho.

I was a skinny kid, up until I was around 14. I then started eating unhealthily, and pumping my body with crap. I was diagnosed with depression at 16, and the weight doubled. I didn't think much of it, and then I realised that four years later, I was nearing 200lbs. It wasn't...

We're Talking About An Eating Disorder, Right?

Orthorexia is tricky because it's "healthy." I recently went on vacation with my family, who I hadn't seen in a couple years, and all I heard was "You're too skinny," "You're too thin," "You need to eat something," etc. (picture the quintessential Jewish mother nagging her kid...

    Racked With Guilt.

I know that eating four Oreos wont be the end of the world. My therapist told me this much and the logic is rock solid. But I hate myself for it anyway. I run an extra mile to hopefully compensate.

    I Love Being Orthorexic

When I was growing up, i was always skinny.  People thought I had an eating disorder because I never gained weight.  I loved being told I was beautiful, pretty, graceful like a dancer; being envied because I ate whatever I wanted at parties.  Little did i know it...
