    I feel a sense of pride having known

    that my ancestors came to America from Swabia. It's pretty cool that our names are all very similar from Schwa, to Bauer.

    Yet I know so little about this culture

    as my parents migrated to Australia when I was 2, so guess i am Aussie now but still have some language and would love to learn more, or return for a visit, but life has not been that kind, and now i do not think Iwill ever get to see my homeland

    My father was born in Stuttgart and immigrated to America when he was young. But I still have relatives in Württemberg and would love to visit sometime.

    Not really, I'm American of German ancestry. However, I have a very good friend in Stuttgart. His late parents used to take pride in explaining to me that they were Schwabian.
