BACKGROUND ON WHERE I'M FROM AND WHERE I AM NOW

March 5th, 1990 is the day I was born in town called Dormagen in western Germany. Lived there up until I was 9 years old, and then my parents decided to move to Pennsylvania, U.S. Since German was basically my first language learned (knew little English in Germany), it was kind...

My mother used to speak German sometimes,

since she took classes in it in High school in the 'States. My grandfathers... father, I think, came directly from Germany, in the time before World War I. I don't speak much German, though I can say some basic words and count to... 8 I think.

We are very traditional, tight knit family. One of the many things that draw us close, is researching our heritage. My father's family first came to America in 1740, immigrating from Prussia. There are many great stories to tell about what we've learned. He didn't really...
