I Cannot Believe I'm Actually In School Again....

Like many here, I am in my forties and returning to college. I went for so many years the first time because of a disasterous combination of junior colleges, changed major, university, two more changed majors, etc. I finally got so frustrated, that I walked away from it. That...

    Brain Atrophy

I'm hoping to start classes in August. I'm sort of scared though because I've been out of school for close to four years and it was not easy for me the last time. I'm worried I'm not smart enough to finish. I'm worried that over the last four years of just working and not doing...

Yes I am and I can honestly say I'm

so nervous about it. Its been 10 years since I went to college, and had to take some time off for other reasons(work, family, etc...etc). Now that I'm going back and the time is getting closer, I'm just starting to freak out about it. I feel so unprepared and I haven't started...

I have mixed feelings every time I step onto

campus. I feel a bit out of place, but at the same time, it feels refreshing. I am taking a course in a community college. It's to improve my job skills. I am not trying to earn another degree. Sitting in class this time around is so much harder to do than what I remember...

Going Back To College At 30

I am going back to college to get some classes to help me with work. At first I was nervous, I work at night so I don't know if I could even stay awake during the classes. I also didn't know if I will blend in well. I ended up enjoying myself. I got to meet new people and...

It Isn't Like It Used To Be...

So I just finished my first semester at college, after 17 years of being out.  I'm so excited, but it is also so confusing.  It seems like every time I get something done that they require, and I think I'm good for awhile, there's more things to do.  So many requirements and...

Already Starting To Second-guess My Decision

So, I am "only" 23 but, to be honest, feel ancient. I first got into college at 18, right after graduating high school, and it turned out to be a really dumb decision at the time. I went against what most people advised me to do, and got into economics, which really wasn't a...

I am going back to college

after many years absent. Any of the housing I can find that I can afford doesn't allow pets. I'm afraid I'll have to give up my dog to go to college. I love her so much and she misses me when I go anywhere; it's unfair to have to give her up for college. But it would be stupid...
