I Am Homeschooled

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 299 People

I don't like when people think that I'm naive or not "street smart" or that I cannot socialize. I've noticed that it's specifically public school kids that think those things about me and look down on me because of it. In my swim team I was talking to my friends and one asked...

I am 16, and I am in 12th grade. I have been homeschooled through Christian Liberty Academy in Illinois for 14 years. (including preschool and kindergarten) I resent the fact that I barely have a social life because of this, but I am smarter than the average high school student...

Not Really Homeschool But Close Enough (it Rocks)

I'm not homeschooled but I do DECV, which stands for Distance Education Center Victoria. Its an actual school with heaps of students from grades prep - 12, only difference is we don't go to the school. We have the books and stuff and do it at home and occiasionally have...

One thing I love about homeschooling is that

once I'm done with my assignments for the day that's it I'm done. No sitting around a classroom waiting for the bell to ring so I can go to another class. I often finish by 12 unless I get started late or take a break.

    We Are NOT Idiots.

People judge me all the time because I’m homeschooled. They either think I’m a sheltered idiot who has no “life experiences” or I’m snobby or something. There’s this brilliant video (which I will put a link to at the bottom of this) and this guy explains the...

    I decided to go homeschooled

because my entire life (I'm 12 but almost 13) I've been outcasted, it always felt like bullying everyone had best friends when I earher had none or one. Most if the time it was none though. The kids weren't what bothered me. They were fine. It was, believe it or not, the staff...

My twin sister and I have always been

I have been homeschooled my whole life.

It's awesome. If I work hard I finish early, it's that simple. If I'm lazy it takes a long time. Sometimes I do get curious about public school, can someone describe it for me? I've never been to public school and I want to be an author so it would be handy to know what it's...

    So I'm "homeschooled".

if you could even call it that. I started about 2 or 3 years ago but I totally stopped. I honestly feel like I'm the only one who made this mistake, or maybe you feel as though it was the right choice for you. I feel like I have no place in this world.

I couldn't even imagine how awful things would

be if I had to go through public school. I'm so incredibly self conscious already, and I know for a fact most of the kids in high school would hate me because I was hated by everyone during elementary school. It's part of the reason why I'm home-schooled now. Well, technically...

The weirdest thing about being homeschooled.

.. When your mom tried to have the "talk" ( if you know what I mean?.. 😂" And you have to act completely clueless even though you already know everything she's telling you, because if you don't then she'd probably question my knowledge...😂😂😂😂😂
