Well, Kant says No, to lying. But there is nothing wrong with choosing your words wisely. Anyways before I bore everyone with my philosophical mumble jumble. An honest person, never lies. Not even with sarcasm. Personally, thought I think it depends on the situation. But as a gen rule, lying is bad.

Who's Kant??

Well, the full name is Immanuel Kant and he was a German Philosopher. Like I said before, he believed that there is no justification for lying and that it should not be done for any reason. Even if a killer came to your door looking for your neighbor, it would be wrong to lie about their where abouts to save them.

I'm glad I took a look at your mood before I asked cheeky," Is Kant the opposite of Kan"!! JOKING!! (yes, now we roll eyes). Still, does he address not telling the "whole truth"? Is this viewed as a form of lying??

Not bad, a bit surprising I failed to see that connection before (Kan and Kant) I'm a bit slow, I guess.

Kant basically makes a distinction between an artful doge and an out right lie.

So to answer your question, it depends what you mean by not telling the whole true. If you give misleading information, then yes it is wrong and consider a form of lying. However, if the misleading information is not untrue, then it's not lying.

I hope my answer was not too confusing.

sometimes we lie I think it is imposible not to but that's only if your to scared to face the outcome of the truth and people are compulsive lyers but to answer your question i don't think we have to lie or to lie because we want to spare someone's feelings :)

I could lie if it meant protecting people. Hopefully, haha I have never had to and I hope I never do. Im a terrible liar because it goes against everything I believe in.
