I Am Introverted

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 770 People

I am sick of being told to be more

extroverted(more outgoing or talkative in my case). When I ask why should I? I usually get told they care about me and don't want me to be unsuccessful. "Unsuccessful?" Apparently they have never done any research. Most successful people are actually introverts. (bosses etc...

    Personal Retreat

I like being alone. No, scratch that, I LOVE being alone. Of course, some social interaction and hanging out in public is needed from time to time, but mostly I like to be alone. Really alone, with no other people around. Spending too much time with other people makes me...

    I'm happy not socializing,

i'm happy behind a computer screen or skypeing instead of going to party's or shaking your hand. I hate when people drag me into a room with a group of people who are partying without telling me because they "want to help me" i don't need help i'm not a object to fix. I have...

    Yes I am introverted.

.. And to be honest, I really do love it. I don't know if it's only me but compared to everyone else I feel like I know myself way better. All of the people around me chase drama like it's a drug, they need more and more. Then there's me, no matter how difficult my life is, it's...

Being an introvert, you need those quiet times.

You need that time to sit alone and refresh. You spend that time in deep thought and plan for your future endeavors. It's also times that I can't get her out of my mind. I wonder how she is doing, what she is doing. I wonder if she is OK or if she needs something that I can...

I am an introvert which may come off

as the shy nerdy girl. The one who doesn't go out to parties or participate in life. Truth be told, I just am bad at socialising and I am shy. Id rather be alone and listen to music. But this is due to my severe anxiety, panic attacks and depression... Anyone else out there?

Hello all, this is my first post/rant,

thank you in advance for reading. I am comfortable with being an introvert. My attitudes and behavior are pretty typical. I have two very trusted friends and a few acquaintances whose conversation I enjoy. When conversations don't interest me I'm quiet...I observe and get lost...

    Well, I am an introvert

but am forced to live like an extrovert. The only friend I have is also an Extrovert. I try to turn down as many invitations as possible as most of the times there are lost of strangers. I don't dance, I don't chit-chat, So I am forced to go at peaceful corner and observe that...

I like to spend a lot of time alone.

I do, however, like to socialize from time to time with 1-3 people at a time. I used to feel really bad about it but now I embrace it. I cannot fully function or be at my best if I am running on 0 energy from constant social interaction. It's very draining. My school hosts many...

Throughout youth, many children seek to fix

It's not bad to be introverted,

you will not find me on party's in the middle of a group of people, just with a few friends (4?) is good enough for me. I don't need the attention of everyone all the time, sometimes I just want to be alone with my toughts. And, if you are friendly to me, we can become best...

    I've Always Been An Introvert

There have been times in my life when I'm witty and socially open when in a group. But for the majority of my life, I keep my mouth shut and kinda do my own thing. I take things too personally, I feel like no one agrees with my viewpoints, I don't play sports or have any hobbies...
