Up until now I never really was

interested in cooking as the kitchen was my wife's territory; however lately I decided to learn how to cook. I already tried myself as a cook with some simple recipes (not too many ingredients and not too complex instructions); however the end result didn't really win any...

My Mom And Dad Are Both Amazing Cooks...

...but I apparently didn't inherit that gene. I make cereal. If I'm feeling really brave I'll attempt a salad. My excuse is, "I'm a college student and I live in a dorm room!" But I'm not sure where that excuse was the 18 years of my life before I went to school. This summer...

anyone else use Pillsbury biscuits to make

little pizzas? just flatten them out then load them with favorite toppings. has to be the regular grands though; not those "buttery" ones that have that disgusting, sweet taste.

Making Sunny-side Ups And Mango Floats

I am learning how to cook. While I know how to do spaghetti and macaroni salads, I found that I am very bad at certain basic dishes. For instance, I was a complete failure at sunny-side ups. They were always either too watery or burned. Sometimes, I even accidentally break the...

    Yes You Can Burn Water!

So I am married now and am doing the whole housewife thing but the cooking part hasn't been easy. As a child raised on tv dinner I grew up thinking that corn dogs, pizza rolls, french fries and the wonderful stouffers was cooking. I even told my husband that I made it at home...

care to share any clever kitchen improvisations?

my recent one is realizing that if I'm out of stock or broth I can use a bit of mushroom or onion gravy powder to make soup. also I learned how to make vegetarian "meatloaf" with soy, veggies, oats and seasoning. thank god for McCormick!

    Before College!

Because both my parents work full time (and have done so ever since I can remember), my brother and I grew up with this lady who was a housekeeper/nanny/cook/maid/all of the above. Which, come to think of it, is pretty common in Asia. As a result, I didn't learn how to do laundry...

    I Used a Recipe For 4 Ppl In a Meal For 2

So I planned this great dinner to prove to my man that I could cook and I accidentally used enough ingredients for four servings on steak for two and in deviled twice-baked potatoes for two.  So the flavor was extra strong and turns out all he likes in his potatoes is "...

I Am Quite a Good Cook

However, there always is something new to learn in your kitchen. Whether it is a new dish, a new technique or maybe a new spice. My learning phase will never be over, and I'm glad because of that. Wouldn't it be boring if we learned how to cook for lets say 2 months, and after...

So my boyfriend is this amazing cook and THANK GOD bc apparently I'm not.  I just don't do it that often.  Cooking to me = defrost/microwave.  I really enjoy cooking but it doesn't just come naturally since I'm so out of practice.  The other day my only job...
