    I'm using a textbook called Japanese

    for Everyone by Susumu Nagara. -I am told it teaches more than both Genki books COMBINED. (Also 20% of the cost of both books, 20$) Also, I'm using Memrise to learn kanji, and KanjiQ on my iphone to learn the stroke order of said kanji. Memrise is bae, use it.

    Japanese is my first language,
