First to Write On This Topic

Wow, the people who say this haven't written anything about it. Well, I'll be the first. I love talking about my guitar. It's been about 7 months since I started learning guitar. But I'm not very good because my teacher likes to go really slow. He goes to the next thing only...

    Slowly

I started a year ago learning to play an acoustic guitar- as the tutor is a friend, it is quite a casual learning setting, meaning that as much attention as should be demanded is not.  I commenced by learning the intro to Smoke on Water and was very pleased with myself...

    Smoke On The Water

Got a big gig in a few weeks with my 10 year old son.  He plays rhythm, I play lead.  Got that song down pat finally.  It'll be him, me, and about 15 other 8 to 10 year olds.  I have this fear that I'm gonna end up in that coloring book they give you in the 2nd grade.  The...

    I Quit Before

I really need to find something else to do with my life, instead of getting on the internet and watching tv, I need to find something productive to do, so I just decided to get the old guitar out. I'm going to be consistent with it this time, dedicate at least 10 min a day to it...

    I have wanted to learn

for a while. I am "teaching" myself since I cannot afford lessons. But I've started with chromatic scales and I am working up to chords. This really helps with my sporadic thinking, hopefully I continue!

    We Know A Few Chords

Shortly after she made me up, she decided I can play guitar. So I can play it in her head. However, she doesn't actually know how to play the guitar except for a few chords, so if I were trying to pick up a guitar in the real world, I wouldn't be able to play it. So she's been...

    My fingers are hurting.

At first, I was kinda proud to have these calluses...but now...they're kinda ugly to look at! Haha oh well, all worth it when I am learning new songs to play! :)

    Embracing The Journey

Started learning but quit as a teenager. Picked it back up about a year ago. Feels overwhelming and impossible at times but then a minor breakthrough happens. It is an empowering experience, particularly for someone not musically inclined.

Falling Asleep With My Guitar Beside Me....

Three months ago I bought a Fender Stratocaster electric guitar copy (colored black and white). I believe my love for music has its roots from the classical music my father made me listen to when I was younger. He had a penchant for classical music and oldies, it may sound...

I've been playing on and aoff for roughly a year, and I've definatley made progress, learned a bunch of chords and licks and improved my speed and dexterity, but I feel like I need to make more progress faster.  I haven't taken lessons, and I can't read music (but I want to...

    Planning On Reteaching Myself Again...

After I get mine fixed(the weather hasn't been kind to my poor acoustic; the neck is separating form the body), I swear I'm going to try to teach myself to play for the (and this is probably exaggerated here) tenth or twentieth time.  I have the books and desire to learn...

I like to paint my nails

and have them long but you can't do that if you play guitar or at least learning to play it.because shorter nails makes for a better playing but I feel like once you get good at the cords you'll be able to have them long because how else wood people.like Miranda Lambert be able...

    Bought a guitar yesterday.

It's a fender acoustic guitar. Later, I will save some money for a Gibson guitar! Learning some chords, it will be fun to learn to play an instrument again. Music is a big part of my life and playing my guitar will change it...hopefully in the positive direction.
