Growing up in the 80's in the UK,

I experienced something which would be unthinkable now. Looking back, I'm quite angry about it. At school, as a leftie, I obviously used my left hand to write. This was never a problem. However when it came to school dinners, the dinner ladies would always slap my hands (and...

Being left handed is hard in martial arts.

My karate class had a guest teacher that taught us some boxing. Me, being the only lefty, had to do the 'modified lefty' version of it.

Being left handed is awfully difficult

when you're trying to eat a meal on the right side of a right handed person. We always end up hitting elbows!

    The world is not made

for us lefty's! Writing on a paper pad with an ink pen leads to disaster of the smudging kind and a dirty inky splodge on the outside of your palm leading from the pinky down to your wrist. Such a cruel world! Also back when you were at Primary school (or Elementary school to...

Since I was a kid, I used to adjust my

positioning to write since the schools I attended were packed/over-crowded and also re-adjust to use right-handed tools. I can write in normal angle to almost 90 degree position(slower a bit). I can't write the same handwriting nor have sign the same signatures. I navigate with...

As a left handed female whos parents are

both right handed I feel proud. Men are two times more likely to be left handed then women and two right handed couples only have a 2% chance of having a left handed kid while two lefty's only have a 50% chance. I am unique and damn proud of it. :)

    Being left handed ducks sometimes.

granted we think differently than others it puts us outside the box so that's a plus but to others we may seem insane. I hate not being able to see when I write or the ink from pens staining my hand. I always get asked about it, or turn my notebooks upside downs since the fold...

    I learned to write sideways

because I like writing in notepads and blank books. That's not so easy when they all open from right to left, until you get in the habit of writing sideways. It also avoids getting ink on the side of your hand from writing left to right. If I were in an Arabic lingua franca...
