Learning to Fly
Into the distance, a ribbon of black
Stretched to the point of no turning back
A flight of fancy on a windswept field
Standing alone my senses reeled
A fatal attraction holding me fast, how
Can I escape this irresistible grasp?
Can't keep my eyes...
blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
Did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
Did you exchange a walk on part in...
A New Machine - Part I
I have always been here
I have always looked out from behind these eyes
It feels like more than a lifetime
Feels like more than a lifetime
Sometimes I get tired of the waiting
Sometimes I get tired of being in here
Is this the way it has...
Is the man who brought me up to appreciate Pink Floyd.
He used to sing the songs to me, whilst he has his big headphones plugged in to his stereo and I was in my bouncer-chair,
dummy in my mouth.
He even told me, when my mum was pregnant with me, he was listening to an album, on...
This sound, this humbling song, it makes me think about this tiny world around me.
As I prepare myself to leave for college, I recognize that I am leaving such a small community of people that I've known for 12 years of my life and I'm sailing out into the world, my existence...
One of my faves...I think it has a different sound for Floyd, and I totally dig it. ;)
I am just a new boy
Stranger in this town
Where are all the good times?
Who's gonna show this stranger around?
Ooooo I need a dirty woman
Ooooo I need a dirty girl
On the Turning Away
On the turning away
From the pale and downtrodden
And the words they say
Which we won't understand
"Don't accept that what's happening
Is just a case of others' suffering
Or you'll find that you're joining in
The turning away"
