Sometimes, when I play a song I like, I pretend to sing along. I've never spoken, so I don't even know how to lipsync, but I sill make what mouth shapes I do know and just completely rock out. I'm curious if anybody else who's mute "sings along", and if so, were you born mute or...

    In A Way, Yes

I don't talk. I don't feel like I should talk. Recently, I've only spoken to one friend. I may as well be mute. I didn't want to be like this, but it happened. It's like I gradually lost my voice. Who is to blame? Is it my fault? Unanswered questions. is there some reason I can't...

I am not mute 24/7, though there are times when I wish I could be. Perhaps in time I will be able to be mute as I wish, when I get away from my parents. My reasoning is this: it's healing. I'm not the most emotionally stable person, I've spent time in two different mental...

Three years ago today, I was in a tragic car accident where I lost my ability to either walk or talk (it was a TBI). I also struggle with tinnitus. I want to walk on a stage and talk for God even though I'm not able to either walk or talk YET. With God all things are possible...

Yes, friends, and random readers, Kat is unable to speak IRL.  My close friends know this, and I'm not exactly one to keep it hidden. My lack of voice is physical.  It's the result of a near-fatal infection when I was a little girl (I had the benefit of having several...

i found there are many facebook groups called "dysphonia" which are really helpful, and the words "mute" and "mutism" are not represented on social media. and nor are words like 'non-vocal' etc. so i hope that people can find community in social media, using the word "DYSPHONIA...
