    Standing In The Dark

I actually think that I have more in common with a bat rather then a human being. Why is it so bloody impossible for me to have a normal sleeping pattern? It’s really quite simple, DAYLIGHT-AWAKE-NIGHTTIME-SLEEP. Yeah, as if my body follows the rules. No matter how hard I try...

    Hmm "walking After Midnight" Aye

2:40am this morning I went walking... out along the flowing creek. I find answers I seek in these moments.. about my life, where I'm going, what I should do. The streetlights, the sounds, the animals stirring, give me answers... I hear the wind, nature calling me... I didn't...

I always joked about it, but I never actually realized I was nocturnal until this summer. I've always loved the night and I've always hated daytime. I despise sunny days and summer. I love rainy days and the other seasons. I always feel more calm on rainy or snowy days; days when...

I become alive when the world around me begins

to shut down. Excitement bubbles through my mind like a child going to a candy shop when I see the stars sparkle. It's my time to party. When the house closes their eyea, I come out of my skin. I stretch my muscles, crack my bones, because I know for the next few hours no one...

Lately I've made allnighters a habit.

I simply can't sleep at night during summer. However, I crash easily during the day and get a good sleep then. I'm worried about this habit, if it has any negative effects. But the only things I are are about ineffective memory (problem for nightly studiers), caffeine's negative...

I have always been a night owl.

I feel most productive and creative at night. I am actually planning my next semester of college specifically so I can live a fully nocturnal lifestyle. I just get so much more done at night. Lucky for me, I live in a big city so there's enough nightlife to keep me...

    I Wish I Weren't Nocturnal

Although I love the night time (and I always have), I WISH that I was just "normal." I've been like this since I was a small child. Even though I had a routine schedule growing up (I mean, you have to go to school early in the morning, etc.), I was NEVER able to go to...

I could stay up all night without being the

least bit tired. When I'm awake late at night I feel like I own it...you know, like the world belongs to me. Is this how every rebel feels?

    I have been nocturnal probably

since I was born. I never thought to ask my mother about my in utero activity prior to birth; I just remember her telling stories about trying to rock me to sleep at 6 mos old and me thinking midnight was the best fun time to do things! I am lucky in that the way I work now...

No matter how early I go to bed I just can't

function during the day! So I just sleep from 5pm till 10pm then wake up and do my homework, study, housework... everything, then get ready for school and go go go... I'm so weird but thats how I'll live my life from now on!

I sleep all day and am awake at night typically.

.. But last night I went to bed early and woke up at 8:30 this morning and I don't know what to do with myself!

Recently I’ve been staying up all night

and sleeping a little in the morning and afternoon. I realize that it isn’t good for my health, but I just love being awake and active at night. I find that I can be rather productive during those hours. I can focus my thoughts more clearly and write freely during the night...

    Being On And Off Nocturnal

I would be totally nocturnal but my mom freaks out and worries. It's no different then her only I prefer the night. Daytime makes me tired and goes by so slow. I can pretty much do whatever I want because I'm doing distance education. I just got out of being nocturnal but...

    I'ts My Time to Be.

I get so easley lost in my thoughts and love the peace that's around when everyone is asleep. Some times when the sun comes up I jump into bed and pretend I was sleeping just before my husband wakes up .

    Night Flower

The perfume is sweeter on a warm night. Silence can almost be deafening but the peace give me time to think, wander and explore. A good day's sleep for me begins ritualistically between 5-6am, I know I've had a huge day when I go to sleep at midday. Breakfast is usually at 3pm...

I try so hard to be a day person.

XD I went through forcing myself to be up during the day and taking sleeping pills at night so I can have a normal schedule, but it didn't work. I think I'm stuck in this permanent nocturnal state. D: It is not bad, I like it but apparently the world doesn't. I can't really do...

Function amazing on 3 hours a day

because my deranged high metabolism provides constant energy. If I try to get more sleep, I wake up in the night. So often I spend my nights awake and take a long nap in the daytime

    At Heart

No matter how many times I force myself into a "normal" sleep schedule, I keep coming back to the night. Wish I could keep it that way, but some day-time obligation always comes up. I must be one of the few people in the world that envies garbage men.

    It Just Feels Right.

Even when I was at school, during the summer holidays I loved staying up late, and at college again it just happened naturally, especially in the holidays. I believe some people are just set up that way - night owls we are called. I believe it's to do with something called...

I Am a Creature of the Night

Some people just seem to be naturally nocturnal and I am one of them. If I were allowed by societies customs, to pursue my natural cycle, I would sleep through the afternoon, only to rise in the evening and stay up through the night. Then, I would enjoy the early morning...

    Not By Choice...

I work 5 different part-time jobs. Most of which are graveyard-shifts. I take night and early morning classes at my College, and my sleep schedule is usually about as consistent as the writings of L. Ron Hubbard. Because of this, my body has adapted to the idea of waking up in...

I love the night. Night time is my natural time

of the day. It's always been like that. If I had it my way I'd sleep during the day and do everything I need to do at night, like work, chores, errands etc. It's when I function the best. But alas no the powers that be have forced me to do everything the "normal" way.

So having become accidentally nocturnal through, well, a range of factors. I've come to realise it is better for me, I'm more productive and more motivated, as well as more active. I'm not even finding I have a vitamin D deficiency. The only thing I'm having trouble with is a...
