    I'm supposed to go to the beach with the kids

    for a vacation. Duties: making the youngest one swim. For the rest.. well.. I just don't enjoy it. The sand. The warmth of the sun. Sweating and baking. Having to hide behind sunglasses because of the sun. What really is fun on a beach for longer than a day or two?

    I wish I was. I see all those people,

    kids, travelling the world having good times making selfies on beaches going on year long breaks to find themselves in India or whatever. How do they pay for that, make space for that? I mean I'm in a life phase I could afford that easily but I can't be idle. I have kids to take...

    I am all for pleasure,

    don't get me wrong, and I have few limits provided no one gets hurt. But hedonism raises pleasure to a cardinal principle, and that takes away your humanity. I take pleasure in pleasing others, and hedonists don't get that.

    Watching sports. Now,

    why would anybody do that? I enjoy the world cup, maybe the european cup but that's about it. I really can't understand what's so exciting to watch, together with 40.000 other men, 22 sweating men running on a field. Maybe a ballet, yes, if the women are gracious and look...
