I Am Not A Spelling Or Grammar Nazi

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 102 People

i try my best to use the right form of words,

but we all slip up sometimes. especially when youre arguing with someone, you simply shouldnt bring up their grammatical errors, unless thats what you are arguing about. when you use the fact that they slipped up with their words against them, youre taking the attention away...

    Words

English is not my mother tongue.  I just do my best and it takes an effort still.  I try to avoid them but I make mistakes and my spelling may be very poor in personal messages. Words are important and it remains important to take care of them and to cultivate the...

    I'm not perfect in English.

One of the disadvantages being born outside an English speaking country. I do my best, I do. It's far from perfect. It's how it is. You can either ignore the mistakes, or alternatively ignore my person. It's up to you. It's your choice. Judge people on their English skills or what...

Bad Grammar: Laxative For The Pompous

I once dated a girl that would have a big ol' bum brownie in her pants every time I used the wrong your/you're in a text message. Figuratively speaking of course. She would act as if the statement couldn't be comprehended if I said 'Your a wingnut' as opposed to 'You're a...

I am a total grammar Nazi

but I'm slowly realizing its not the most attractive quality. Trying to curb it. Very hard when you were raised by two people who do nothing but read.

    Proudly Not

We all make mistakes, and I don't find it encouraging to shoot people down simply because they cannot write well. Also, language is fluid. It changes. There are no rules. Anyone that says otherwise is prudish.
