    My Eyes Tell Me So

I have macular degeneration. As time continues, exposure to uv light can cause my eyes to progressively lose sight. I'm hoping for a cure, a surgey, or something that would keep me from losing my vision.

I Don't Know When It Started

Sometime after I had my second child I think. The sun, the computer screen being to bright, high watt bulbs, camera flashes. They just all screw with my eyes. I even tend to get spots in my eyes that drive me crazy. Especially when I go camera crazy and start taking a bunch of...

Sometimes when I go out in the sunlight, the backs of my eyeballs get a bad ache. Anyone else experience this? Weird.

    Photosensitivity and Amyopathic Dermatomyositis

I was diagnosed with virally-triggered Amyopathic Dermatomyositis.  I played tennis indoors only to find that the indoor lighting is as bad or worse than sunlight!  Worse, fluorescent and mercury lighting are everywhere!  My rash does not seem to be helped by using...

    I'm Not Alone!

Great to find this group! I've never had a friend or even an acquaintance with this problem.  It seems like no big deal to people who don't have this problem, but you know how painful this can be.  No barbecues, no beach trips with friends...  So many important...

    Vampire? Maybe. Lol

Without the whole blood thirsty need for biting people though. LOL J/K I have extremely fair skin and medium blonde hair. I burn to a crisp anytime I get in the sun for too long. Plus my eyes are extremely sensitive and I usually walk around looking like a blind bat...

Lsd + All Day Snowboarding + No Goggles =

Yeah, bad combo. I couldn't open my eyes for 3 days. I'm talkin, I couldn't even tell if the light was on or off. I thought I was blind. All I know is, I took two hits, went boarding and after I had got home that night & went to sleep, I woke up in the middle of the night, in...

    Eye Injury

Sixteen years ago, I was playing in a soccer game, I was defending, and from ten feet away the opponent took a shot. I couldn't turn fast enough, and the ball got me square in the eye. My eye took 100% of the hit, because I didn't even get a black eye from it. People saw that...

It Would Be Sexier If I Were a Vampire,

but I am not. LOL My skin and eyes are photosensitive for two main reasons. First, I am fair-skinned. Second, I take certain medicines on a routine basis which cause photo sensitivity. There have been times when I suffered heat stroke due to exposure; the dizzyness...

Someone Please Turn Off the Light!

I've always been sensitive to light. I keep the brightness on my monitor down low and I prefer low watt light bulbs. I don't like sitting in pitch black, but it's better for my eyes so I do it when I can. Natural light from the sun is killer to my eyes too; but I'm too stubborn...

    Any Kind Of Light.

Ever since my eyesight started going bad, I've had huge issues with light. When I was around eight or nine, my prescription glasses had rose tint to them to try and cut the glare from flourescent lighting, because I was having terrible difficulty at school. I don't get the tint...

    Light Sensitivity.

both my eyes and skin are poorly suited to light - i sunburn easily and i have rather extreme photosensitivity, so i even end up wearing sunglasses indoors at night. fortunately nobody has ever asked me anything about that

    Red Skin

It's my skin, it's too pale, I'm not a light person, i prefer twilight and dusk, or night and shadows. I should live in the arctic for half the year and in the antarctic for the other half but my survival skills are poor, i'd be eaten by a polar bear or mugged...
