and not to return when the Italian owners found out I was Sicilian. I thought I offended him but he was telling me to leave BECAUSE I was Sicilian. My grandpa told me Italians and Sicilians didn't get along but I didn't think I would experience it first hand!

    Actually, I'm half Sicilian.

My father was born in Terrasini, though he came to the US as an infant and never returned. I tracked down the town of his birth and spent a month there, in an apartment just a block from the church where he was baptized. It was quite an experience.

I'm not, but my paternal great grandfather,

Francesco Chirieleison was. He came here in 1897, through Ellis island, with nothing but the clothes on his back. A few generations later, a legend was born.
