    Hi, I'm not Singaporean

but there is something I wanna know about Singaporean culture. Is kissing a normal part of dating life there? I know PDA is still kinda looked down upon, but is kissing normal in all couples? Or are many Singaporeans still pretty conservative? Thanks!

    The Protesters

I went to the Hong Lim Park Protest against the 6.9 million population paper. The reason why i went was because i was studying social theory and thought i could learn something important. It was a rainy day and with each stride my slippers would flop and splatter mud over my...

Argh the haze. And during exam period too.

So annoying. It had better not make the sch postpone the exams... I mean yea that'd be more time to study, but Sec streaming year, if everyone's in the competition is studying, it won't make a diff. Plus I ant take it anymore... The stress. My parents' constant misunderstanding...

Yes I am one of the many

I got out of depression all by myself more than 10 years ago. I think I am still suffering from depression today, yet I am helpless. I do not wish to be on medication, it makes me rely on it very much, moreover I am a mother of a 3 year old boy, looking after him is my main job...

    Home Soon!

I am a Singaporean living in Australia and I'm glad to say, if all goes well, I'll be home end of this year. Family, friends, sunny days, tall buildings, blue skies, greenery, language, slang and culture, people, and of course... Food. Glorious food. Can't wait!

    Melting Pot Or Salad Bowl?

Racial harmony has always been a BIG issue in Singapore. Since young, we were all taught in school to "pledge ourselves as one united people, regardless of race, language or religion" (our National Pledge, just in case you do not know). Of course, at that time, I really have no...

    Proud Singaporean

I am born and breed in Singapore. It is just a dot on the world map but compare to its progress and stability its outweighs its location. It is so safe and its policies is so fair. Many from other countries came either to work or study. Some even chose to stay as PRs or Citizens.

Honestly speaking, I've spent all my life in SG,

but I've never been proud to be a Singaporean till I hit my 20s. I guess it's something most of us in my generation grew up in - we were inculcated with the belief that we are a small nation-state and we are unable to do much. With the obsession to compete with one another in...

I have lived out of SG

for 11years so far. I would say, i can only be my true self when i m out of my homeland. If people are to asks me what SG is like, i can only say ~ modern in appearance but the most conservative country.
