    Usually, when people recognize me,

it's not something which brings a smile to their faces. Usually, when someone who recognizes or thinks they recognize me approaches me, I don't really recognize or know them (I'm not kidding when I say that I'm pretty self-absorbed and inattentive). Walking past someone in the...

    I Am Painfully Awkward.

And I don't mean that to be "quirky". A lot of people, I've noticed tend to lovingly describe themselves or their friends as awkward for having out-of-the-box thinking. For example, I remember going to the movies and seeing some people I knew from college sitting a few rows ahead...

    I'm Very Socially Awkward

Okay, So I suppose I am : shy, weird, socially inept, awkward, etc. I have social anxiety and always blank out when people talk to me. And, I always think of the worst situation that could happen at any given moment anywhere in public where there's people around. I hate being...

I am a very private person.

. I don't know if that's a good thing or not. Like I can't help it. I don't like telling people, even friends, my business plus I don't really like bringing attention to myself. I don't know..

I mumble, I stumble over words,

I avoid eye contact, I blush, I stammer, I am shy. I am terrified of speaking in front of crowds. I have a hard time meeting new people. These are all things I can work on, and hopefully I can become a more confident person.

When a person talks to me face-to-face (which is

so rare for me), half the time I am thinking whether I am looking good or not, should I look into his/her eyes or not, should I keep saying hmmm or okay after every 5-10 seconds or not? I hope I don't look like an idiot just staying quiet while he/she is the who keeps on talking...

I Never Have Much to Say...

...but I have so much on my mind! As the username implies, I'm one of those spacey, nature-loving hippy types. I like to think deeply about EVERYTHING and that gets me into trouble socially most of the time. I tend to zone out when I don't feel included in the conversation - and...

I'm noticing that my "awkwardness" has changed

over the years. Things that used to really bother me don't so much any more... and I've also found entirely new things to be awkward over as I try new things. I find humour helps. It is still hard to approach people, but if someone approaches me it is much easier than it used...

Truth is my social skills depends on

who I'm with, I can talk to a girl who is just a friend and has similar interest but I can barely maintain a conversation with a girl that I think is cute. I can talk to people I've been around long enough but can barely talk to new people.
