I Am Stoic

    I Try

Things sometimes cut me so deeply. Life has occasionally dealt me some ****** cards. But I try to remain calm, or at least keep a semblance of calm. Not only for my family, but for myself. It's not really suppression...It's more along the lines of acceptance. Sure, I hurt...

A Stoic Woobie. Straight from tvtropes: These

characters need a hug. Badly. But don't expect them to ask for one. A sub trope of the stoic, unlike other Woobie characters, they won't cry, angst, or outwardly show how much they're suffering (internally is another story). They don't want your pity and in a number of cases...

I am stoic and overly strong to the point

that my family and friends get mad at me. And others who aren't as strong as me **** me off. I need to often remind myself that there life's different and that everyone has different levels of strength but sometimes it just makes me disgusted with the pettiness and whininess.

    I Think So....

When I think about how hard things are and how empty my life feels, at least I can take pride in the fact that I am a strong and stoic person. I never feel strong but I must be to still be fighting on and going into work each day. Even if my heart feels crushed and I am doubting...

I am unless I'm really close to someone

and the moment is relaxed. My stoicism is a real problem for people who don't know me well.

    It Is a Rough Life

I only say that being stoic is rough because non-stoics dont understand my demeanor.  "Are you mad?", "You look p*ssed" are the kind of responses I get on a daily basis. Just because I do not wear my emotions on my sleeve does not mean that I am mad. ...

To borrow from wikipedia: "The idea was to be free of suffering through apatheia (απαθεια) (Greek) or apathy, where apathy was understood in the ancient sense — being objective or having "clear judgment" — rather...

The greatest problem with mankind is and will always be the Ego of man. Now the quickest way you make enemies is to hurt the Ego of some moron thinking him/herself to be oh so wise, which in reality they are not, it is just all for the ATTENTION SEEKING SHOW you see, acting they...

The old cliche about "kids break a window and get a spanking" actually happened to us. We had been warned about playing ball too close to the house, but would do it anyway when our...
