Probably because she herself invokes God into the election, and the war and the economy.

First of all if you think is IMAGINARY how did you get into the world!!! GOD is alive and if you don't know you best find out to get to know him without him you are going to spend the eternity in HELL!!!!!

Look at the world, you who think God is imaginary, great shape we're in! The more moral decline we allow the  worse trouble we are getting in. Stress from financial, global catastrophes is escalating. So keep pushing God out of it all. You might want to develop some humility and become the servant, yes, servant, that Jesus Christ was on earth. We are our brother's keeper. Stop ripping off the world with double talk from both sides of the coin. We are in deep, deep trouble and God is the only way out! Wake up, America!

I am an atheist/buddhist from Australia. G'day. Surely after the stuff- ups of Bush, a believer and evangelical, have left the US with one hell of a financial , credibility,and system-wide moral decline, don't youall long for a breath of fresh air like getting "god" out of politics, teaching science like America was once famous for and caring for the mass of your people like the new testament commands... "blessed are the poor...do good to those that hate you...turn the other cheek etc with health care for all like we do in Oz. Or do you want to become a comfortable little theocracy, like Iran - they believe they've got the spiritual inside news too - and obliterate all of America's diversity? By the way, if you're thinking that my Buddhism disqualifies me as an atheist, Buddhism is a very broad system of belief and within it you have much choice as to whether you believe in various metaphysical concepts such as "god" or whatnot. The main thing in its philosophy is that a Buddhist should follow the eight fold path which promotes empathy with all living beings, mindfulness and meditation on impermanence. Anyow, enough for now ... lotsa luck Mindlesley.

I see too many imaginary things injected into our govt affairs.  Take all the lies & half-truths these politicians tell us & would have us take as gospel.  It all sounds pretty imaginary to me so why stop at religion?

We can all just imagine ourselves very happy in our ignorance.

As far as I'm concerned to any educated forward thinking progressive individual who has their belief system based on reality it is pretty obvious there is absolutely no such thing as god.

There never was. Peoples and cultures since the beginning of time have used the concept of god to control the masses, to answer the unanswerable to fill the void of unknowing and to control the weak and help to give meaning to their lives. The leaders of many religions and various movements including the Catholic Church have over time admitted as much. (By the way if you didn't realize it the Catholic Church is just another international for profit major corporation that happens to have sovereign state hood.)

Being that I consider myself a generally good person I won't hold it against you if you do believe in god....to each his own. You got to do what YOU have to do to get by. But I probably will not want to be your friend and will in the end have a lot less respect for you, particularly if you are a devout believer of any given faith or a "fundamentalist". To knowingly put that much faith into a fairy tale kind of undermines your credibility as a rational independent minded ADULT human being.

Fyi: a good majority of our most famous inventions and advancements in human knowledge and science, technology and medicine throughout history came from people who pushed back against the religion of the day and were considered in many respects heretics: Leonardo DaVinci, Newton, Galileo etc right up until modern times.

So in that sense if someone could prove to me right this instant that god does indeed exist I would say I'll pass on that if it means I get to have the knowledge that the earth is round, keep my 100 channel cable TV and penicillin. (If there is even the slight chance that research and experimentation with stem cells could CURE paralysis and a whole host of other afflictions but people wish to oppose its govt funding anyway in the name of religion....**** you and your self righteous selfishness.)

And in forgoing religion maybe we could have avoided all the misery and bloodshed and war induced in the name of God throughout history: the crusades, the inquisition, WWI, the holocaust (WWII), 9-11, Fundamentalist Muslim terrorism the world over since the 1970's, the Slaughter of Christians worldwide including at the moment in Darfur, other atrocities: Rwanda, Somalia, Chinese backlash against Buddhists, communism in general, Hindu-Muslim strife in India-Pakistan, I am leaving out 100's of other examples. The history of warfare is directly linked to religious belief; either caused by religion or made worse by it.....is that a good, merciful and just God? I think not....which is why he/she isn't God but just god. Just a three letter lower case word that has no more meaning than Thomas the Steam Engine, a cute fairy tale, a good children’s story...but at some point you are supposed to grow up.

WOW!  I thought we had separation of church and state here in U.S.  Also "Freedom of Religion".   What does a person's belief or lack of it have to do with Sarah Palin--or any other Political wannabe?  As for morals, I have witnessed so many peeps who rave about other ppl's morals--who obviously don't have any-----soooo-- was it the Red Queen in Alice in Wonderland or Mary Baker Eddy who said, "The world would go around a lot faster if people would mind their own business.?  HahaHa- if it did go around a lot faster, we'd all spin off into space--or would we all go to heaven?  :) gryfnn
