I Appreciate Stephen King

The World Is A More Enjoyable If Slightly Scarier Place Because of Him.

The first book of Stephens Kings that I read was 'Pet Cemetary', I think I was about 12 or 13 years old. I haven't been able to stop buying his books eversince. He is a very gifted if slightly strange man.

Anyone who has the ability to cause me to lose sleep from reading their work before bed gets major respect from me. :)   Sooooo many sleepless nights thanks to Mr. King.   Sitting up in bed thinking "Wow. That was so messed up." Hahaha.

    Quantity Over Quality?

To be honest, I really like about half or less of the material he has written. But since he has written a lot, that is lot in pages.   I think his style is more suitable writing short stories than novels, even though there is nothing wrong with the novels either. I...

'The Long Walk' Made My Legs Sore.

The long walk... **** that's a sad story. Read this and note the date it was written, he pre-empted reality shows. This is pretty wicked, 18 year old boys walking non-stop 4miles an hour across America under army supervision, shot if they fall under the required speed. You...

The King Can Put Them Out

Dreams are some of the best ideas to work from I've written great stuff based on dreams and not only nightmares. But to answer your question I've been reading Stephen King since I was 17 he's a great writer and can holed your attention until the end, although I find in his later...

    Unlike Most

Unlike most who like Stephen King I haven't actually read any of his books. I HAVE listened to a couple though. Reading can be difficult for me sometimes. I have however seen a lot of his movies. Not a big fan of those as you might imagine with several exceptions. My fiance is a...

    Nightmares Turned to Money

I heard a long time ago, that SK got his ideas from his nightmares/dreams. This fascinates me. I wish I could take my lucid, long winded nightmares and turn them into such captivating stories. Than maybe I wouldn't have to search for job on Monster anymore! He amazes me with his...

    Forever and Ever

I was introduced to Stephen King in the 8th grade. By the 9th grade, I had read everything he had published to that date. I continued to keep up with him for a long time, although I have not recently, more because I don't seem to have as much time to read these days. Some of...

    OH, the Childhood Memories!

I was a HUGE fan of Stephen King, still am... to some degree. I just wish he would stop with so many stories of killer vehicles and getting hit by vehicles... Heheh! =p But ironically, it was his story about such a thing, "Christine", that got me hooked on this guy's...

    I Do

Prolific, which I hope to be, and relatively consistent, which I also hope to be. I admire his style, his common themes, his amazing characterisation. I feel like I have lived in parts of Maine and spent a lot of time in Castle Rock. I wondered if the last book of the...

appreciate the fact that he has shared his stories with the public.  A lot of them got me through my teen years. I'm glad they were there for me to read. I appreciate him taking the time to write his thoughts down to create the stories.
