I Became a Science Fiction Fan At An Early Age

For everyone that has lived long enough to see what was once science fiction become science fact. 240 People

Six, if you count Doctor Who.

Then Star Trek, then books. So I'm part of the pre-Star Wars generation. I was sad when SF books got replaced by crappy Lord of the Rings knock-offs.

    Quite Early

I was about six or seven. Before that I wasn't aware that SF existed, so you could say I became a fan at the earliest opportunity.

M Dad Told Me I, Robot Stories Before Bed

He'd simplify them some what, but I knew the three laws of robotics before I knew how to read. I also got my preschool friends to play Star Trek. My first "grown-up" book was a Star Wars novel in third grade.

In second grade my parents worried about me

because I wouldn't read any books. I went to the library at my School and saw a book for the older kids. It was a sifi book. I checked it out and showed my mom it. She didn't let me read it because it was to high of a level for me. But she took me to the library in our town to...

I Grew Up With Sci Fi! A List of Films I Enjoyed

I grew up in the late 50s, early 60s when a lot of shows were still in black-and-white.  Star Trek was a huge one for me.  I also would watch movies like Godzilla, a cross between Sci Fi and horror. Here is a short list out of many I enjoyed.  Some are a cross...

Does anyone remember the VG (Victor Gollancz?

) SF books. They had yellow covers. Brilliant writers. In my teens I read two or three a week.
