    Your Free Will

She said: The decision has already been made for me. He said: Please. Only you control your own destiny. She said….. nothing. He… refused to accept. She looked at him with eyes of deep desire. He knew it was not for physical want. She stood silently waiting. He...

I have read many stories on EP lately

where the author blames everything and everyone but himself or herself for the choices made by the author. I believe we all have circumstances that drive us, but I also believe we are free to choose even when facing coercive circumstances.

I believe we all choose our own path.

I know that no one is telling me to turn left instead of right. Nobody is holding me back and telling me to wait before crossing the street. I know that I was never forced by some invisible hand to do the things I've done. I made each of those choices on my own. On the other...

You may have grew up in a strong gang

affiliated environment or even had family directly involved in gang related lifestyles but even then you still have a choice with what you're going to do with the free will God has given to you. There are juveniles who are lawyers and judges, people who were sexually ,mentally...

    On Determinism

Suppose there is a point, and a set of conditions surrounding that point. Now, this point is the origin of all existence. You can call it the "cosmic egg" if you want, but "origin" will suffice. The conditions surrounding it do not so much matter in the specifics. There is an...

    Better To Believe Than Not...

To put a complex argument simply, It's better to believe in the illusion of free will and choice, than to think everything is pre-determined. That way, you live a responsible life full of courage and danger, directed by decisions of your own doing as opposed to lying back and...

I'm saddened by the title of this group. Free will is what we all have.  We don't need to believe in it.  It is a birthright of all.  Free will is also what many among us eagerly give up for superficial and unsatisfying goods like money or status.  I...

Some Interesting Words (podcast) Against Free Will.

I always like to hear both sides of the story. Always hearing and believe one sided ideas seems a bit naive to me. Would like to to get opinions on what people think.  http://gdayworld.thepodcastnetwork.com/2008/05/22/gday-world-324-dr-susan-blackmore-on-free-will/

    Not Much Free Will Around

I believe most of us are just children playing in the back yard until the control person who is assigned to us calls us in for supper. A few of us don't go and find staying alive in this culture is almost impossible without bowing down to some control freak. At this point if...

People who believe in fate contradicts

themselves when they believe in free will. There is no choice when you're life is fated and destined for one thing. Everything that happens for a reason, means you do not have a choice in the latter, that you are led like sheep to inevitability. So some people will never get...

    The Future Hasn't Happened Yet!
