i don`t believe they are the spirits of Dead People. I am a humanist with no religious beliefs wahtsoever but experiences within my own family bring me to the concluson that there is something occurring that needs explaining.
My own belief and its most probably been said on here before is that what people are seeing is a replay of an event that has somehow been recorded and wheever atmospheric conditions are at just the right mix or whatever people will see the ghostly image.
I am not scientific in any way and can`t explain how but considering a video tape records images using a magnetic ***** i believe that something similar is happening with atmospheric conditions acting as some sort of recording device.
You have most probably at some time in your life at some event felt a highly charged atmosphere or the change in atmosphere before  a storm. I feel that at certain times , e.g a Battle or a Death or an accident etc , the atmosphere becomes charged in some way and if the right mix of conditions is there the event somehow becomes recorded and replayed over and over when the conditions dictate.
It might be a one in a billion chance that the conditions are at the specific mix to allow the recording of events but with almost 7 Billion people living their lives 365 days a year thats a lot of events going on.
Like i have said i can`t put my point across scientifically , i am just a layman but i do believe it will be proved in time that we are simply seeing the past replayed.

 

I believe it depends on your location, its been proved that ordanary quarts crystal can hold vast emounts of infomation, much like the computer chips we have today, your belief may be right on. I have noticed that most haunted sights that they show on tv and and in books are in locations in or around lime stone which holds vast amounts of that crystal.
