I Believe In Karma Forum & Chat Board | Karma - where it starts?

Had seen lot of discussions on karma and good and bad things as result of it. But confused on where it starts.  If a person is getting hurted and disrespected by someone who is very beloved then is it because of the person past karma that he/she is being punished  now? If so the person who hurts now will be punished in his next rebirth in the same way? If so where is the start and end of this chain? is it going to continue from one person to another? 

 

Okay... I think I understand what you're asking. What someone else does to you is not 'punishment' on you. Karma is like a deposit and withdrawal system (americanized karma is anyway... that's another story for later). You put in good in life, and good things return in the long run. If someone chooses to hurt you in any way, that is not karma paying you back, that's someone who's being a jackass, and for that, they will get a backlash. It doesn't have to be in the next life, it could be in the next few days, hours, or minutes. Even seconds later. But the point is, what you do, comes back to you.

 

Thanks Leela.. I never had belief on these karmas before. But recently due to changes in the life pattern which iam not able to control or some different superficial thinking that i experience is bringing these kinds of questions which i couldn't get a answer. I like a guy very much whenever i had seen him or think about him there is a inner voice saying that he is mine and it is the divine relation. We were very good friends but due to these kind of confusion we could not continue ourself as friends. But he never had such kind of thoughts or instincts. Infact he is in love with some other girl which even i know and he started to hurt me more and had insulted me on each and every instant. Though i can very well know that he is not mine and he is continuously insulting and hurting me. The affection i have on him is not coming down and still if i think about him there is a inner voice saying he is mine everytime. Why am i getting these kinds of thoughts again and again? Is it something to do with my past life? Could this be related to karma or it is just a common thing?

Iam afraid i still have a true affection on him but he had insulted and disrespected it. will this add to his karma? I dont want him to get punished if at all he had done mistakes.
