and before you spread it, seriously consider the source of that rumor, before you start spreading it yourself.

Ooooooh yes. Rumors and viruses have a great deal on common. The contagion starts in the infected person's mouth; said person promptly puts it into the next unfortunate's ear. The virus then moves to the second person's mouth...and the vicious cycle continues.
