I Believe That Words Can Hurt Worse Than Physical Abuse

I think words can definitely hurt more. I still remember most hurtful comments that I have received in my life. I have had: 1. "You look like Pinochio with that nose" 2. "You're a midget" 3. "You look 12 even though you are 16" 4. "It looks like someone has just cut your fringe...

    Physical abuse hurts,

but the pain doesn't last forever, it heals with time. But the words hurt even more, cause words are hard to forget, memories are hard to forget. Emotional and verbal abuse is far worse than physical one. Broken hearts rarely heal.

Physical abuse heals with time. The words can echo in the heart forever keeping the wound open in the soul.

    They Really Can

I don't know why, but with physical pain, you can remember that it hurt. I remember when I broke my toe, I remember being in so much pain that I just couldn't even move for several minutes.  But no matter how much I think about that, or any other injuries I have had I just don...

I believe that people can do a lot of damage to

other people with their words. If someone says a lot of mean and hateful things to me then those words can really hurt me if I take them personally. I have been hurt in the past with words and I know what it feels like and I don't want to do that to anyone else EVER!

Nonsense. Words are just a collection of

compressed vibrations aka sounds. They're all made up. How can someone be so weak that a mere word would hurt them.

    A bruise will go away.

A bone will heal. Blood will clot. But memories aren't so easy to get rid of.

They Can Break Your Spirit, Challenge How You Feel About Yourself

when someone beats you up or r*pes you, you can wash away the evidence after the police reports and medical tests. When someone hits you, the bruises heal in time, when they cut you, the bleeding will stop.Your body will heal. But when someone tells you things over and over again...

Words of strangers can cut deeper then a knife,

Negative feedback from those that are close can put a gash in your soul. The words that brake you are the ones you want to hear, but are never spoken by those that are closest to you.
