"I’m my masterpiece" We start with

or without the materials, skills, and ideas. We work hard, let go of the flaws; sometimes having to step back and re evaluate if we should make changes. Unfinished sometimes it will look good sometimes ugly, chaotic, or not what we want it to be. every artist has their own...

Yesterday I went to the release party

for a local zine that publishes poetry. The topic was Love and Outrage. I initially intended to stay in my bed all day, but I decided this was something I needed to see. So I crawled out of bed, got ready, and went to the venue. All of the poetry and emotions were so raw. I...

Art is sometimes seen a a luxury.

It is not needed to maintain our bodies like air food and water. However, a world without art would be devoid of so much. It enriches our daily life so much in many subtle ways.

    Life Without Art Is Meaningless

For me, I think art is a necessity no matter what form it comes in. Whether it's theatre, music, visual art, dance, writing, film, anything where emotions are expressed, I think it's something that should always be available for people to explore and enjoy. Honestly, art is a way...

I literally would not be alive were it not

for music. So many nights I've lain awake trying to smother my thoughts with my headphones, crying tears whose emotions I can't always place, with my soul somewhere dark and cold and my heart wondering whether it can escape my rib cage. If I didn't have the comfort of music to...

it brightens peoples days and allows you to be creative without having to worry about what people think.

Making Art is like Making Love.

Often messier and not usually as tasty, still both create feelings, good, bad, and ugly.

I had an angsty epiphany this morning

that 'nobody "REALLY" likes art nouveau or the styles that came after anymore' and that everything that was has just become a 'hipster way of defining oneself'. I realize someone needs to calm me down and tell me 'those self-obsessed manbuns' and 'weird sloppy handcrafted felt...

    ART!

Art was the first form of communication, and quite possibly the best way to see inside another human's brain.  So art is needed for communication if nothing else.

And I Detest The Fact That My School Clearly Favors Sports Over Any Type Of Art.

I love art. I love to draw, paint, to sing, to play instruments... The list goes on. But my school doesn't really care for any of that. They love you if you play sports. The choir and band are poorly, if at all, supported and the regular art classes are filled with people who don...

I Believe There Is a Need For expression

Whether it be through writing, music, painting, drawing or making some god-awful conceptual art piece, at least you are expressing your thoughts and emotions through something.

    This Is Hardly A Story!

I want to go for this ceremics workshop in a small, isolated village in the hills, in Italy and so wish I had a friend who shared my interest and we could plan to go there together. When will I learn to start enjoying things without needing others? :(

Art can be a gift so very altruistic in its

conception. Altruism is the gift of something with no defined and egoistic hope of return. Van Gogh was driven to paint in his mania. He yearned to understand his gift yet it consumed him, because he was always seeking to capture the essence of existence, in a face, a flower...
