Vietnam To Possibly Overtake Brazil In 30 Years As A Coffee Exporter Due To Climate Change

In a chat room in 2013, a Vietnamese bragged that her country was the number two coffee exporter behind Brazil. I then explained to her that due to global warming desertification of Brazil that in the next 30 years Vietnam could overtake Brazil as a coffee exporter. I started...

    Derrick Jensen.

One of my favourite authors is Derrick Jensen. He's an environmental activist and is one of the most brilliant and brave people I've ever met. One of the most simple, and yet most overlooked facts about our culture is that any way of life solely basing itself on non renewable...

I'm not so sure whether it's the Earth we need

to save or if it's humans. Because this massive overarching monoculture we've created...it needs to go down. We can either dismantle it voluntarily or be dragged down with it when it finally does come down. Because it will go down eventually; it simply isn't sustainable.

We as humans are just one species out of

millions on planet earth, we are also the most destructive. We polutte our waters, our air and our lands, we exploit our natural resources for economic gain, and seem to think foolishly those resources are ours alone, we destroy the natural habitats of our wonderful and diverse...

    Plastics

This will be my only attempt to reach out to people on EP to garner support to save the environment. There were 4 other subtopics that I posted and then deleted due to lack of interest. A sad commentary on the apathetic state of the world today. I leave this one up only...

This is honestly a good thing.

Humanity is a species destined to be overall miserable. Most of the world is and will always be poor, and let's face it money = happiness. It's not the fault of a few bad apples, but the common man. People aren't good, but they're certainly not bad either. They're neutral...

There is nothing wrong with planet earth.

Something that has been blasted with solar rays, gamma rays, asteroids, fire, floods, earth quakes, ice ages, etc isn't going to be destroyed by little parasites known as humans.
