    Horror

I once bought a book to help inspire me for a pre - twentieth century horror story I needed to write for my English h/wk. I never did read it, a mate sat next to me and gave me all the ideas I needed. What a waste of some decent money....

    Not Intentional....

I have a ton of books in my room that I've bought and never read. I mean to read them and when I buy them that's the plan, but I never seem to get around to it. I've never really been much of a reader. Infact it wasn't until my 8th grade teacher got a hold of me that I even read...

word for it...books are amazing but I prefer tangible news. I'm an exemplary reader and I have always exceeded on writing, but I don't have time. The book fair is here and I have 5 or so books picked out. One is $15 and the rest of them are somewhere better $2.50 and $5.00. No...

So I'm still getting used to this site.  I meant to share my story, but started a discussion topic instead.  Awesome! Not so long story short, I own way too many books.  I would estimate that I haven't read more than half of them.  Perhaps even one-quarter...

    Love Buying Books

I enjoy buying books. I can spend hours in a bookshop, buy a few books and forget about them by the time I get home. I never read most of my books, it is nice just to have them on my shelves.

I Buy Books That I Never Read

I buy A LOT of books. I certainly haven't read all of them yet, but that's not to say that I won't get around to it, someday. I intend to. I never buy a book that I don't intend to read at some point.  I have so many books on my shelf that have been waiting a long time to be...

    Orphanage

How to resist buying a rare book for a reasonable price? In the years I almost lived in thrift shops, it happened all the time. I remember having bought a book called 'Radium'. It was a scientific illustrated treatise from the 1930's. The subject must have been highly...

    Me Too

I have a pretty decent book collection and most of them I haven't read cover to cover, most of which are the fiction ones.  I mostly leafed through the reference books too.  I guess I am not a big reader but I love books that are useful like cookbooks and self-taught...

    They're Called "textbooks".

No, that was a joke. I read my textbooks, even though so far they seem like a complete waste of cash because all of my philosophy texts are public domain (I could find them here on the Internet and read them) and the rest of my classes' professors don't assign any reading. I buy...

It Takes Me So Long To Finish A Book, Anymore.

Before the Internet, I used to read all the time. I'd barely read a thing since getting the Internet, and being introduced to The Dark Tower series in 2002. At my job, at that time, I had a lot of downtime, so I'd go through a book per week, at least, and I was known for the...

    Always Do

I always buy books I have never read or sometimes have never even heard of. I love to look through the books in a store, read the backs, and get the ones that look interesting and that I haven't had the chance to read yet. Very rarely do I ever buy books that I already read. Only...
