I Care About Homeless People

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 944 People

A lot of people end up sleeping rough.

I'm not into being judgmental about this . I think that every town should have a shelter were people can go for a night or to. In these places they can be safe and be given proper help . Some choose to live rough but many have no choice . So if you can support...

Whenever a criminal is daring to feed the

homeless, America's finest are on it. The latest, out of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, involved collaring a 90-year-old menace to society, as told by TV station KHON-2: On Sunday, the city charged three people, including two ministers and a 90-year-old homeless advocate, and...

I often get asked for help by people

who are in need of it. I think it's my friendly face . Giving money to people direct can fuel a drug addiction. I've helped drug addicts but only by guiding them to expert help. Drug addiction is in my view a medical problem once established however it begins. If someone asks...

I don't see many homeless people

where I live - but I have been to the city a lot. There's homeless people on every corner for the most part - I see them whenever I get on and off the train - I see them in the station - I see them in the parks, the allies, everywhere. And every single time I see them - it...

rather than charities. I'd rather just give a homeless person some money and food and stuff myself than give to charity, I mean I know they still help but I like the feeling I get when I actually hand over some money to someone who needs it

    Grand Central Winter

I've noticed that many people who haven't experienced homelessness tend to have quite negative attitudes about homeless people. This deeply saddens me. But as I read reviews of the book, Grand Central Winter, by Lee Stringer, I was encouraged. I read the book myself a few years...

It's just wrong for the homeless to be picked

    Among Shadows

It was the dark of night; the way we expect a typical story of this genre to start out. The young boy trekked across the paved streets, as the bitter cold began to engulf him. He wore nothing but rags - a tattered jacket, ripped jeans, worn black boots and gloves, which had...
