I've collected them since I was young.

Just different kinds, if I found something I liked, I'd bring it home. My favorite was finding amber or agates, totally amazing to me. Now I collect different gems and stones, even fossils if I can find them. My latest addition is a brown and white geode, store bought of course...

    The Rockhound Gemboree

A friend has invited me to accompany her on a trip to Bancroft, Ontario for the Rockhound Gemboree. Bancroft is Canada's mineral capital. We will get to dig for crystals from an open pit and see a rock carver at his craft. I am so pumped. This is my very first rock dig. I am so...

    Only One

When I became 21, I spend my birthday in the mountains, near a fall, I took a rock to remember and honor my pledge to myself. I still have it.

    Moose Rock

I really don't collect rocks, but I have had many given to me over the years.  A few years ago, my sister gave me a rock that she found in the Arizona desert.  It clearly had the head outline of a MOOSE on it.  What a special gift, since I do collect Moose items!

I Love Rocks and Stones and Iron But That Is Another Matter

I did not know anyone else liked rocks and stone - not for geological reasons although that is interesting - just for the aesthetic. Fossils are just the icing on the cake! Although I love the hard stuff I really like sedimentary rocks. I have a collection of egg shaped...

I collect agates that I rockhound for.

Mostly MS River agates. They don't have much banding. Also, I've written a few papers on agates.

    I Collect Rocks Too..

They are nature's jewelry to me. Raw and beautiful in their forms, shapes, magnificently beautiful colors. The natural glitter some have been imbued with that sparkles in the sunlight. Some have colors of the sunset. It is almost like shell hunting but much easier to find...

    Early Fascination With Rocks

I became fascinated with rocks when I was about 9 years old. I used to collect different coloured rocks from my driveway and set them up in my back yard. Then I'd charge the neighbourhood kids a nickel to visit my "rock museum"....lol. When I started teaching, my...
