    Crochet The Family Way....

One of my earliest memories is that of my Grandmother crocheting. She always had a mammoth bag of yarn with her, and she was always making something. I wanted to learn but I was the youngest grandchild and I think that she had lost most of her patience by then. One day, I was...

A Question - Patterns, Stitch Guides

I have the hardest time with patterns and all of the things I crochet are learned with the help of youtube videos. Any tips on how to get the hang of reading patterns? I am thinking I need to find a comprehensive crochet stitch dictionary. Either a physical book or online guide...

Saving My Sanity And Lots Of Other Fun Things On The Way

I love crafts but hate waste so I look for ways to recycle and craft. My thing has become ragrugs because of the available material and practicality - after all you can only use a few 100 doilies. one of my first projects was a heart-shaped Q hook rug from an ancient Leisure...

    I recently took up crocheting

and I actually like it. People say I shouldn't be surprised because it's in my blood (mom has a crochet business). My wrists and fingers hurt a lot, but I will learn how to deal with it because I'm going to continue to crochet 😊

    Love To Crochet!

I taught myself how to crochet a couple of years ago and I love it! I haven't done it in a while, but I'm looking forward to picking it back up. The last project I was working on was a blanket for my husband. Then the bottom fell out of our marriage. It has taken me a while to...

    Hooked On Crochet!

I first learned to crochet when I was about 8, my grandmother taught me and it is something that most of the women in my family do. For the longest time, the only thing I could make was chains and not so good granny squares...I remember making several long, multicolored  chains...

    Hooked!

I've always been interested in crafts.  My step-grandma tried to teach me to crochet when I was five, but my chubby little fingers just didn't have the coordination.  I didn't pick up a hook again until I was married. My best friend taught me how to make granny...

    I actually invented crocheting.

.. Until I discovered it already existed. One day many years ago I was toying with a ball of string when suddenly I discover a pattern of weaving that allowed me to make a hole-filled fabric sort of material. Holey fabric out of string! It was amazing... and addicting. After a...

    Crochet For A Good Cause

I crochet in my school's crochet club and we make little things for each holiday, like hearts for Valentines Day,shamrocks for St Patties, things like that. And we make a ton of them and then sell them to the parents. I started in 1st grade and I'm in 5th grade now. But not a...

    Crocheting Is Therapeutic For Me

I started crocheting about 2 years ago, so I'm somewhat of a beginner. It helps me with my anxiety when I'm in public, and it gave me comfort when my dad passed away. I enjoy it so I'm focused on the project I'm working on, instead of everything else around me.  Most of my...

    Crochet Is So Soothing

When most think about crochet, they are thinking "Old woman" or "She must not have a life." I'm a happily (dating, hopefully married someday) woman with a job at a Fortune 500 company and a great support group of family and friends. When I'm bored, which I get bored easily, I...

I find crocheting relaxing.  My grandmother taught me years ago.  I saw a tablecloth in a magazine that I just loved so I had to make it.  The darn thing took me almost 2 years to finish.  But it finally got done and I still love it.
